Cozy Sourland Mountain Stay: Close to Hopewell Boro, Princeton, Lambertville

Whether you’re visiting family, in town for business, attending a baseball tournament at Diamond Nation, having a romantic getaway, enjoying local wineries/breweries or a fun girls weekend, experience the magic of Sourland Mountain at The 1890 at Huntland Farm.

This 1,500-square-foot guesthouse is situated on 19 mostly wooded, bucolic acres on Sourland Mountain and sits adjacent to the main home on the property. It’s the perfect stay for one person or up to six.

Located at the end of a country road, but just a mile to Hopewell Boro and 9 miles to Princeton, this charming and well-appointed 3-bedroom guest home provides a tranquil retreat. Surrounded by nature’s beauty guests can unwind after a day of fun activities or corporate endeavors.

Enjoy the serenity of a bygone era as you walk onto the charming rocking chair front porch. Upon entering the home (keyless entry) you’ll find a comfortable dining room with seating for six. It’s the perfect place to share a meal with family or friends and play games late into the night. A quaint bar cabinet provides a space to set up coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. In the adjacent family room, you’ll find a comfortable sectional and wood-burning stove. Firewood is available outside during your stay. With walls flanked with original rough-sewn wood and nails, this room exudes character. The well-appointed farmhouse kitchen is in the rear of the home and overlooks the forest. Fully stocked with all the necessary accouterments to make a gourmet meal with your local, organic farmer's market-procured produce, cooking is most enjoyable in this space. The first floor also has a powder room and a laundry room with a rear entrance to the home.

Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms each having a television with WIFI streaming. There’s jalso a full bathroom with a shower. Bedroom one is the largest and has a king-size bed. Here you can retreat through sliding glass doors to the quaint balcony overlooking trickling brooks and the forest. The sun rises behind the home making morning coffee in this spot extra special. There is a small step down into the room. Bedroom two has a lower ceiling height typical in historic homes. This comfortable room has a queen-sized bed and a desk for remote work. Cozy and warm describe the third bedroom. It has two twin beds and lower ceiling heights as it was part of the original home as well. This room is the smallest and has no dresser or closet.

In the backyard, you can gaze upon the constellations while seated around the locally sourced Sourland Mountain stone firepit in any season. Firewood is provided. The property is also connected to the Hopewell Sourland hiking trail which you can take to town.

Guests rave about how clean and well stocked the home is. It’s close to many local corporations, including BMS, BeiGene, Dow Jones, Zydus, Capital Health, Bank of America, ETS & Jansen. It’s also near Needle Creek Brewery, Hopewell Valley Vineyards, Unionville Vineyards, Hopewell Valley Golf Course, Cherry Valley and The Ridge at Backbrook.

Please note, there is a Ring doorbell camera next to the front door that records video and sound for security purposes. There is also a friendly dog and chickens on the property.

A lovely place to stay

A delightful house that was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. For us it was a relaxing place to stay in an area we used to live and visit with old friends.

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in the Woods – Perfect for a Girls' Weekend!

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in the Woods – Perfect for a Girls' Weekend! This beautiful four-bedroom home, tucked away in the peaceful woods of Farmland Hopewell, was everything we didn’t know we needed. We were four college friends looking for a halfway point to reunite—and we stumbled on this place by accident. What a happy find! Just 25 minutes from the bustling charm of New Hope, PA, it offered the perfect balance of nature and nearby fun. From the moment we stepped inside, we were in awe of the thoughtful details. Every room impressed us—luxurious bedding, modern appliances, stunning kitchen and bathroom finishes, and beautiful, tasteful decor. It was clear that every detail was chosen with care. The home was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need—neatly organized and easy to find. One of our favorite touches? Harley, the absolutely adorable dog on the property! While she didn’t come near the home, we were secretly hoping we could borrow her for the weekend—she was that cute. Our mornings around the fire pit, sipping coffee and listening to the sounds of nature, were peaceful and rejuvenating. The hosts were amazing—friendly, responsive, and helpful with any question we had, big or small. We hardly felt the need to leave, but when we did, New Hope was just a quick drive away and full of great restaurants, arts, bars, and gorgeous river views. This place was the perfect backdrop for our girls' weekend—and we’re already planning our return trip!

Birthday weekend

This property is so beautiful, the home has been upgraded meticulously. Spotlessly clean, and every need anticipated. The house is so homey and comfortable. It was decorated for Christmas, which included, records to listen to with the fire crackling, Christmas coverings on all of the beds, too much to mention. Run, don’t walk to this home, and you can unwind, and leave your worries behind❤️

Weekend getaway

I went away for my birthday with my husband and two friends. Driving up to this 20 acre property was beautiful, it is surrounded by woods with a large lawn covered yard . We stayed in the guest house that was located next to the main house. The house was well stocked and the host really thought of everything. I have stayed in many VRBO rentals and never had a house that was so well stocked. There was a Nespresso machine and Keurig both with multiple coffee pods supplied. Plenty of pots, pans and anything you may need for cooking. There was even jelly and honey, a large array of spices, a jar of pasta sauce and pasta, granola bars and other snacks supplied. Also if you forgot anything from your toiletry bag they had that too. The beds were very comfortable and there were luxury bathrobes and towels supplied. The house was very clean and well maintained. We spent time rocking in the chairs on the front porch and really enjoyed the fire pit with plenty of firewood supplied. We went to New Hope PA one of the days and it was under 20 minute drive. It was a great trip. Our host Jessica was very nice, available and fast to respond if we had any questions or needed anything. I recommend this charming country guest home if you just want to chill out in a country setting.
