Tutka Tranquility
We are local to Homer, and Tutka Bay is one of our favorite places in Kachemak bay to stay and explore. This was a perfect little, quaint getaway. 10/10 would stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend escape!

Tutka Haven
Having traveled the world and visited many amazing places, none have been more magical than Tutka Bay! On arrival, we pulled into the sheltered cove of glacial blue water and moored our boat on the private dock. The cabin, nestled in the woods at the water’s edge, was easily accessible. We settled in and found the cabin very well allocated with a full kitchen, lovely shower room, twin beds in the loft and a very comfortable Murphy bed on the main floor. The fire pit and BBQ grill were located on an expansive deck overlooking the cove. The weather was perfect, with soft fog in the morning and warm sunshine in the afternoon. During our stay we explored the rest of the bay and saw a spectacular water fall and nesting eagles. My sister caught her first king salmon! We would all recommend this secluded, and absolutely beautiful place for couples, friends and family as it provides an experience you will never forget!

Another great weekend at Tutka Haven
This is our second trip to Tutka Haven and we couldn't have asked for better weather for the weekend! After a scenic water taxi ride over and an easy unloading on the dock, my kids went right into the water in their kayaks like they had never left from last summer... salmon jumping, eagles, sea otters and all the fun the tides leave behind on the secluded beach to the back of the property. There will be blueberries galore come middle of August! Don't pass up the chance to stay at this wonderful remote cabin; this will certainly become a summertime tradition for my kids and family as a slice of the real Alaska. Beth and John are great hosts!

Amazing cabin
I have stayed at a lot of cool vacation rentals but this one blows them all away with the character as well as location. The cabin is well built and has all the amenities you could need and the deck and dock are amazing. We fished in the day and sat on the deck by the fire pit at night and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The hosts were great and even helped us with some tools for a boat repair while we were visiting. Really enjoyed our time here and looking forward to visiting again next year

Amazing piece of Kachemak paradise
Beth & John’s place was a little piece of Alaskan paradise they’ve graciously decided to share with others. Beautiful, protected cove with inner and outer beaches, a spacious, multi-story deck, private dock, beautiful cabin with fully-stocked kitchen, and one of sweetest (and cleanest) washrooms and outhouses ever! Perfect for an Alaskan family with a boat and/or ambitious travelers with a desire to have a magical Kachemak cove to themselves.

A true gem of a vacation in Tutka Bay! The real Alaska!
We stayed for 2 nights/3 days in this property and my kids are already asking to go back! After good communication with the property manager and some help with transportation there (we used Mako Water Taxi), a quick 20-minute boat ride across Kachemak Bay took us to this pristine cove that made us feel like the only people in Alaska! The cabin is cozy, warmed by electric baseboards, well-lit and incredibly well-stocked for visitors. My kids immediately set up in the upstairs loft, and the pull-down Murphy bed was incredibly comfortable for us two adults. Great shower/sink room, and believe-it-or-not for our Alaskan standards, the outhouse was clean and pleasant too! We brought our own food, both prepared and not, made fresh coffee, cooked a birthday cake and even used the crock pot! During the days we climbed down to the beach during mid and low tide to look for sea critters, starfish and also fished from shore. A pod of killer whales graced the cove one morning briefly, and there are resident harbor seal and a sea otter that were curious about us. There is an incredible beach on the opposite side of the attached beach that is huge when it is low tide. We brought our own kayaks and were able to kayak around the kelp beds at low tide, looking for colorful starfish and innumerable jellyfish of all sizes and shapes. Cell phone booster kept us connected. If you have read this far I hope you can appreciate how great this location is and we will be headed back for sure!
