For what it was, a renovated motel, starlight was great! The bed was firm and comfortable, and the room was clean. It wasn't even 10 minutes to downtown sagatuck (driving), or oval beach. Some rooms (my room, at least) only had a walkin shower, no tub, which was fine.

We have stayed at this property a few times. This new owner has really improved the property. Everything around pool and hot tub kept up and very clean. So nice they provide pool towels. Breakfast is simple but so nice to have. The room so clean and nice. We plan to go back again. Staff so very friendly and helpful!

Great hotel. You’ll need to drive to downtown Saugatuck. Lots of fire pits, so bring some marshmallows. You can buy a stack of wood there. Great spot for families. Nice owner.

worth a look!

This is a well-run, clean location with about 30 units. Management is friendly and maintains the whole place daily. It is no-frills, 'what they provide is advertised and what they provide/do, they do very well.' It is quiet, the beds are comfortable, the place is safe, and it's convenient to the area attractions. Really nice outdoor pool and several firepits and/or covered grilling/eating locations spread around the property. We will stay again!

Lovely place in a lovely town. The host, Walt, greeted us with humor and friendliness. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The grounds are very nice with benches and picnic tables, a fire pit and a pool. This has been a very nice stay and so close to downtown Saugatuk. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely love this motel. Rooms are cute, clean, retro. The pool area is very nice and lots of outdoor spaces to sit and relax with groups. So far that is the best mattress I have slept on in all of our travels so far in Michigan. Would highly recommend and we will definitely go back if we’re ever up this way again.

Not Family Friendly

I was skeptical about staying in a motel but thought with positive reviews saying it was updated and clean, we would try it out for our first time in Saugatuck. I was pleased the room and pool area was clean. Room was okay i guess for a cheap couple of nights away. We brought our teenage kids. The manager or possible owner approached my 16 yo son and very rudely told him he could not be at the hot tub by himself... signs at the pool literally say no kids under 15 shall be left unsupervised. The man was incredibly rude and out of line with the way he spoke to my son. We wanted to checkout early and stay elsewhere but I tried very hard to not let it ruin our mini vacation to kick off summer. Needless to say, we will NOT be staying here again and DO NOT recommend this place. They are not family friendly and not meant for the hospitality profession.
