Minutes from St Louis, Eureka, Brookdale Farm, & Fenton. High Ridge town has everything you may need and eateries too. You can enjoy a bonfire, fish, swim, kayak or hike here. Coyote, deer, horses abound. You can lay in bed and watch for wildlife, or sit under a covered patio with ambient lights. Close to Lone Elk, Greensfelder, Six Flags, Beaumont Scout Camp, Indoor Recreation close by.

Listen for the yipe of a coyote at night as you relax on the patio. There is a pretty lake close by reflecting the colors of the sky. You can just relax or Swim, Hike or horse back ride. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful countryside home. The area was quiet and peaceful, but still very convenient—Walmart and other stores were just a short drive away.We stayed in the lower level of the house, which had a cozy, rustic feel and plenty of space for everyone. It had everything we needed, and everything was clean and comfortable.Communication with the property manager was great—very friendly and quick to respond.Overall, it was a relaxing and easy stay. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to others!

Nice people but not as listed. Close to St. Louis.

This is a beautiful wedding venue, though not a resort (as listed).It is a working horse ranch with beautiful and friendly animals.The accomodations would have been fine for a weekend but a week was a bit long.This is the owners' basement.Damp, spiders, crickets, mosquitos, and we heard every footfall above. All heat and AC is controlled by the owner above.When the owners were gone the dogs barked about every 3-5 seconds until they returned.White noise did not help.Privacy felt non-existent.When we arrived we went to check in only to find our accomodations occupied by a wedding party.I contacted the owner who apologized and told us to come back later.I said we'd go to dinner and come back.We didn't hear anything for 2 hours.I checked again and he apologized again.No offers of a refund of any kind for the delay.At the end of the stay we were asked to check out early for another wedding and start laundry.The listing indicated a king size bed but it was really two twin beds pushed together and covered with king size sheets.There was no dining room table as indicated, there was a bar to eat at and several vanity tables that could accommodate a person or two.The pond was not swimming quality water. Fish were small bass and bluegill.The creek contains geodes but also water moccasins.There was an old kayak available.Certainly not clean:Hair in the shower, glass on floor, makeup on counters, cobwebs, dirty dishes, teapot full of old coffee, broken bathroom door (he offer to repair).

Beautiful horses. Very friendly. We did not get a chance to ride, but rides were about $75/person and they were willing to accommodate our schedule.
Fish pond a bit weedy for swimming. But free fishing all day. Fish were small but plentiful and the horses always came out to visit.

Family reunion

Really enjoyed the rural setting and lots of room to visit together and eat outside in the evenings. Galley kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals & snacks (but could have used a little more counter space). Owners lived in main floor of house above this basement setting, but noise was never an issue & they were just a phone call away to answer any questions. Had a great time!

Hilltop retreat

Well manicured upscale property set in farm/ranch forested secluded area. Has a pond with a canoe and a small sandy beach. Pasture with horses. Our family enjoyed the surrounding metropolis as there are tons of things to do. Wonderful property! The next time we stay herewe will take it easier and ride the horses!

Our family get-together was very enjoyable at the "Rocking J Ranch". The owners Brian and Sue were very accommodating and hospitable. The picturesque views and interacting with the horses were highlights of our stay.

Christmas Holiday Getaway

Our family (spouse, adult daughter, three grandkids, and myself) spent a week that included Christmas at the High Ridge home. The home is in a beautiful, hilly area close to St. Louis and it fit our needs perfectly. A very special part of our stay included the feeding of the horses that are on the grounds of the property. The grandkids loved this experience. The hosts were excellent.

Great week-long stay with friends

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rocking J Ranch. The house has enough space for 10 people (4 adults and 6 kids). The kids enjoyed petting and feeding the horses (with permission from the owners, Brian and Suzy). We experienced a four-hour county-wide power outage one night. Brian and Suzy were prompt with their response of multiple flashlights, lanterns, and candles. My son wanted to "go camping" and thanks to Brian and Suzy, we achieved it. Verizon cell reception is intermittent inside the house, but this was a blessing to keep us off our phones. We could simply walk outside if we needed to do something. I would recommend Rocking J to friends and family and will keep it in mind for a future visit to St. Louis.

Fun Relaxing Stay with Family

We had a wonderful experience throughout our stay. The house was fully stocked and had everything we needed. The owners were incredibly kind and had great communication. Very scenic, relaxing

Very scenic, rural setting with a fire pit. Close to Six Flags, and 20/25 minutes to everything else. It is a basement apartment, with the owners living upstairs, but with its own entrance and yard area. There was a temporary problem with water pressure, but the owner fixed the problem quickly.

Family get together

Property was well equipped with everything we needed and any additional requirements were met immediately by the owner. We stayed a week and never had any problems. Wonderful!

We stayed at this property for Thanksgiving 2022. It was very comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. We went hiking and horseback riding - and had a wonderful time. We will visit again!
