Our cabins sit on 38 private acres of pristine hemlock forest near the north rim of the New River Gorge National River in Lookout, WV. You can check out our 2 bedroom cabin listing #395633.

For those who just want to relax, Fern Creek Cabins offers plenty of space to roam about the
property. Both cabins feature comfortable porches with grills and hot tubs, outdoor fire-pits with chairs and firewood provided, fully equipped kitchens. All sheets and towels are included. Fishing in small pond on property great for kids to catch small bass.

We welcome well behaved pets charging $40 fee for cleaning .

We ask our guests to not smoke in our cabins.

While our 2 cabin's share the peaceful seclusion of the Appalachians, it is but a few short miles over New River Gorge Bridge to downtown Fayetteville, named 'Coolest Small Town in America.' Come visit, and take a walk around. You’ll find a vibrant shopping district and fantastic restaurants, windows to browse with lots to buy, and a lovely town park.

'Endless Wall Trail' lies a mile around the corner which tours one of the wonders of the New River Gorge -- the unbroken cliffline known as the Endless Wall, which follows the rim of the gorge and offers access to dozens of bolted climbing routes. Breathtaking panoramas await hikers as the trail leads along the top of the cliffs through gnarled pines, mossy boulders, and rhododendron thickets.

Peace and Quiet in WV

We had a great experience during our week long stay at the Fern Creek Cabin. The cabin was ready and waiting when we arrived. It was very clean and was represented well in the listing and stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed the large hot tub almost every evening. The remote location and large property provided complete peace and quiet. We were visited by whippoorwills on several evenings singing from the vine covered archway at the front door. We saw deer and or turkey almost every day on the gravel road leading to the cabin. The location was perfect for exploring the area and just a few minutes the Endless Wall Trail and the New River Gorge Bridge. Also centrally located to Hawks Nest State Park and our favorite, Babcock State Park. We recommended the cabin to friends of ours who are planning to visit the area in the Fall and we would not hesitate to stay again.

Spring break vacation

My family had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. It was small but cozy and plenty of room for my family of 4 and dog. We weren't too far from great hiking spots, ziplining, and rock climbing. We had cold weather while we were visiting there, so the hot tub was a great bonus to help warm us up after being out in the cold weather.

Charming Cabin!

My trip to this cabin was amazing! So secluded, yet very close to SO many trails and parks! I enjoyed every minute. Clean cabin, everything you need, grill, hot tub (a nice plus) and all utensils, dishes, etc. Very Very nice! The Owners are extremely nice and very receptive. I will be going back.

Perfect couples retreat

The cabin was perfect for our quick getaway. It’s located in a great spot near two state parks and the New River Gorge NP. Very private and quiet, we really enjoyed the hot tub and the dark sky.

Perfect for Visiting New River Gorge

The cabin was just what I needed as a place to stay to visit the New River Gorge National Park. I did not have a chance to use some of the extra amenities they offered, such as fire pit and hot tub but everything was ready to go, should I have. Cabin was very clean! I would stay again.

Amazing stay!

We stayed for three nights total and had an amazing time. Right near new river gorge, accessible to tons of spots to eat and shop. The cottage/cabin itself was perfect, they had a lot of stuff to do like great selection of movies, board games, puzzles, walking paths, hot tub, etc. It was super clean and had so many little details that made for a great stay! Would definatley recommend to others looking to stay near the area and would stay here again :) Thank you Tom and Janet!!

Fabulous, quiet country property

The one room cabin was larger and more comfortable than we expected. It was really clean, and i was happily surprised to see some herbs and spices in the cabinet. Shower got hot right away. We didn't use the hot tub, but it was obviously ready for enjoying. The property was several miles off the highway but we got good directions and GPS worked too. I would be happy to stay here again.

Perfect Get Away

Very Clean! Every detail was taken care of including the dog dish. A lot of thought went into setting this cabin up. Remote location with lots of dear and wildlife. Perfect cabin retreat

This was absolutely what we needed for a long weekend. The cabin is one of two on the property, and it was so quiet, serene, and private. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, looking up at the stars, and the hot tub was so relaxing, and super clean! There was plenty of firewood there for us to use, a huge plus. The inside of the cabin did not disappoint. Everything we needed/forgot was there including brand new sponges, paper towels, hair dryer,- you name it. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Decent movie selection to watch before bed. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was very elegant; loved the rounded shower! Now I want one in my bathroom! Definitely a 5 star 🌟 stay

We had a wonderful stay at the one room cabin, listed with fern river cabins. It was close to everything we wanted to do, rafting, eating in Fayetteville and hiking. It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our four grandchildren. It was exceptionally clean and it had everything you could need.

Amazing getaway

This was our first trip to NRG, and this place made our stay so convenient. We were within 10 minute rides of all the attractions. The home feel was great. The seclusion was great for our big family. We had plenty of room to let the kids run and play. We definitely will be planning another trip for next year.

My 3rd time here!

I really love this state and being in the mountains and this cabin provides me the perfect atmosphere. It's super cozy inside and the kitchen is well-stocked! The room has everything you'd need. The groundskeeper Tommy is a sweetheart and a big help. Thumbs up!

A Bit of Heaven

Our cabin was just as it was listed but the charm is much more than pictured! All the comforts of home in one room! The location is convenient for daily exploring of many beautiful falls and trails. The long gravel road up to the cabin was easily managed in our fwd Honda. Every morning started with coffee on the porch & listening to the symphony of birds including Indigo Buntings & Scarlet Tanagers. We saw a red- tailed hawk and a Cooper's hawk. We were also visited by a doe and her fawn. We used the hot tub every evening after our hikes. The stars at midnight were incredible. We cooked most meals and never lacked what we needed for equipment or utensils! A nice surprise was the filtered water at the sink! Thank you for a very enjoyable visit!
