If I were to write a book, it would be there, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. We were there in September but it would be perfect for families with the children having an immense expanse of playing fields. Highly recommend.
The room was roomy, clean and with a good view of the ocean. The dinner was excellent. The proprietors were professional and friendly. The adjacent shoreline walk in both directions was beautiful.
My wife and I had a magical time at JSI. Not only were Mel and Dave incredibly welcoming, but we had some fantastic conversations over wine with the other Inn guests.
Their cat and 2 dogs bring addional charm and warmth to the property. The cat even accompanied us on our evening walk!
Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and hearty.
The view from our room faced the sunrise and had an incredible moon view in the evening! The sound of the ocean waves and wind were beautiful.
We did read a recent review about hospitality for those under 50… we are both under 50 and were treated with respect and kindness.
A beautiful Inn, with beautiful folks! Only regret is not staying longer!!!
If you are under the age of 50 be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen. To be clear if we could rate the one employee we encountered, a lovely woman who checked us in and spoke with us like human beings several times we would give the staff/service 5 stars. At least she greeted us! The owner Melanie didn't even raise her head. We felt unwanted from the moment we walked in to the point we wanted to leave and forfeit our money.
Unfortunately the owner is a pretentious and condescending woman who seemed to have forgotten we paid $667 for 2 nights. My husband sat down for breakfast and was told to remove his hat, like we were dining at a fine dining establishment. Michelin-star dining it was NOT. Beware this is advertised as an Inn but is more like a shared rooming house. There are no microwaves, bar fridges or TVs in the rooms. It is a large home roomed out and ideal for 50+ adults who look rich. Funny thing is, my husband and I certainly aren't poor and had we been treated like paying clientele instead of children, we may have returned and/or referred others. The view is gorgeous there. That is the only positive we have to add. Sadly because we were ignored and made to feel unwelcome by the owner, the only time we spent what we over-paid for was to sleep. Next time we visit PEI we will pay the same amount for a proper hotel with owners who treat ALL CLIENTS with respect and care.
Staying at the Johnson Shore Inn truly felt like a home away from home. We especially enjoyed winding down each day in the cozy dining room, savouring delicious meals and great conversations with fellow guests. Our room was beautifully decorated, peaceful, and offered a perfect place to relax. The breakfast was enormous and delicious!
The setting is stunning—perched on red cliffs with breathtaking sunsets every evening. Mel and Dave are fantastic chefs, so be sure to include at least one dinner during your stay (we were lucky to enjoy three!). A special highlight was the evening we were treated to oysters and bubbly before dinner—such a thoughtful touch.
The spacious dining area offers individual tables for each party, so there's no need to worry about communal seating if that’s not your style. Don’t hesitate to book this charming inn—you’ll arrive as guests and leave feeling like part of the family.
We were very pleased with our stay and well taken care of. The room was very clean and comfortable. If we are back in the area, we would not hesitate to book again.
The hosts were very accommodating and helpful with our travel arrangements.
The inn is on a stunning piece of property overlooking the ocean with beautiful views both in and out of the inn. The owners of the inn are incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious!. We loved our room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well-furnished. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
The innkeepers were fabulous -- welcoming, attentive, helpful, great and interesting conversationists. Our stay was exemplary in every way. We dined on-property and our meals was likewise fabulous.
The location is wonderful -- awesomely scenic. We regretted we stayed for two days -- three would be allowed more time to explore PEI.
