Crazy 20 million year old petrified stone bath from the volcanoes of Indonesia
Welcome to Jumanji, one of the world’s most unique luxury stays – a villa so extraordinary, it feels less like checking in and more like stepping through a portal to somewhere wild, magical and truly unforgettable.
Located Daylesford – just a stone’s throw from the best cafes, day spas, wineries, and walking trails this vibrant region has to offer – Jumanji isn’t just a place to sleep. It’s a place to feel alive.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll know you’re somewhere special. Giant tree poles rise from the ground like ancient sentinels. African sculptures, lanterns, and ornamental elephants greet you at the gate. If you’re lucky enough to arrive in daylight, you’ll be struck by the sheer majesty of the views – rolling hills, native bushland and sky for days. At night, the lighting transforms the landscape into something even more surreal – warm, glowing almost otherworldly.
And then… there’s the villa.
Jumanji clings to the very edge of a dramatic cliff. In fact, we may have nudged it a little closer than most architects would approve. If you're scared of heights, brace yourself – but for those who crave the spectacular, this is heaven. The outdoor bath? It's not just a bath – it’s a 20-million-year-old petrified stone relic from the age of the dinosaurs, perched on the cliff’s edge under a fairytale timber roof adorned with fairy lights. Add steaming hot water, a chilled bottle of bubbles and views that make you feel like the last person on Earth – in the best way possible.
Inside, the king bed is nestled up against a massive glass wall, so you can watch kangaroos laze in the valley below while sipping your morning coffee. The interiors are deliciously African – earthy, rich, quirky and full of character. Handcrafted furniture, fairy-lit poles, cheeky little safari animals tucked into corners – it’s an epic adventure of its own just exploring the space.
Of course, if you must stay connected to the outside world, there’s free Wi-Fi and Netflix. But we’d humbly suggest you don’t. This is the kind of place that invites you to disconnect – and reconnect with yourself instead.
Guests often tell us they leave changed. That they came in one version of themselves, and left a little lighter, a little more inspired, a little more human. That’s what Jumanji is about – creating a space so unique, so immersive, it becomes part of your story.
We hope to welcome you soon. Just don’t forget to look down (or not) when you’re soaking in that ancient bath.
