The moment you enter this home you will say WOW to the spectacular views of Rocky Cape, Bass Strait, and Detention River. With the tide in or out, the ever changing view is stunning. This fantastic 4 bedroom home is perfectly located on the North West coast in a very quiet position. Only 45 minutes from Burnie and 25 minutes from Wynyard, Table Cape, Smithton and historical Stanley. It’s a perfect home base for many day trips to nearby gardens, falls, picnic areas, The Nut, Highfield and the Tarkinc. Walk just 12 steps from each bedroom to your own pristine sand beachfront. Walk the sands or go bush walking, walk to historic caves from Rocky Cape National Park. It’s close to a shop and Rocky Cape Tavern for meals and drinks, if not sit back, relax and unwind and just soak up the amazing views. There is great fishing and plenty of wood to collect for a beach party.

Really loved the house and main bedroom overlooking the river/sea. House practical and spacious and a real home feeling. Loved swimming in the river and watching the high tide come in as well as travelling around Nothern Tasmania. Kayak/SUP available would be awesome! Thank you though was really lovely x

The house is beautiful, clean and occupies a prime position for views and accessibility to the sands and safe waters for leisure activities and birdwatching from the deck. An absolutely wonderful retreat

Though we were expecting Peter and Lisa’s property to be amazing, we were still stunned not only by the cleanliness and welcoming feel of this gorgeous house, but it’s breath-taking position. Honestly, the views and the easy access to the beach - Detention River and Bass Strait, were just unbelievable. A stroll out the back gate and, voila! you are there. Along with our two fur babies, we enjoyed many a stroll along the sands, exploring rock pools and sitting on the verandah or the wonderfully positioned seat in the backyard and watching the extreme tidal shifts and the bird life. The kitchen is so well-equipped, the bedroom cosy and bed comfortable, and the house was easy to warm on a chilly night. Peter and Lisa were fantastic to communicate with as well. Stanley is just up the road one way, Wynyard another and the Tarkine not too far either. Rocky Cape is a short drive - so many places to explore. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer, but this place will be top of our list when we’re next up northern Tassie. Thank you so much Peter and Lisa and thank you from our furbabies as well. Like us, they had a wonderful time!

Wonderful stay and very relaxing house and surroundings. Highly recommended. The views are amazing, with great beach access. The house is really well equipped - relatively close to Stanley and attractions as well as Rocky Cape National Park. One thing we’ve found useful in other properties is an Information Folder about various things in the house (eg recycling, any specific things to do on departure).

Everything there that you needed good location ,great area for children and dogs. Bbq good set up .Close to Smithton and Stanley and plenty of places of interest to go and see. Just stay there and relax at home or the beach.We all had a lovely relaxing week of holiday.

Great location and comfortable house

We had a wonderful time. The view from the house is stunning - looks directly across to Rocky Cape. Direct access to the beach at the estuary of the Detention River is through the back gate. The house is very comfortable and the hosts were really helpful.

Wonderful Home with beach at your back door

Fantastic house with stunning beach at the back door. Wonderful location. House very dog friendly with a fully fenced backyard. Kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils you would normally find in your house. Very clean and comfortable. Each of the four bedrooms were great - three had there own sitting area and TV's. Will definitely return for another great holiday here in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.
