Escape to a charming antique home in Harwich Port.
My home was built by Captain James Monroe Ellis in 1862 and is located 1 mile to the village of Harwich Port and centrally located on the Cape for day trips to Falmouth or Provincetown. 1/2 mile to the Nantucket bound Freedom Ferry and next door to Chatham. Hyannis is approximately 1/2 hour away, where other ferries to the Islands are accessed. Close to wedding venues, Wychmere, Wequassett and Chatham Bars Inn.
Guests private access is through slider on back of house, into enlarged 1st floor bedroom, exclusive use of bathroom off dining room. Guests may also prefer to use the spacious outside shower that has both HOT and cold water and the brick patio area with grill. I'm a Realtor and live/work mostly upstairs, but do come down to use the kitchen. 2 indoor-only cats (Sassy & Buddy) have full run of house but will not go in your room if you keep your door closed. Please remember to put outside light out when returning at night (by slider). This is by request of my year-round tenant in studio below you, she usually walks by slider to and from work hours. Parking is in front of white gate, with room for resident cars to the right and left of yours.
Kitty Rules:
Please don't let the cats (Sassy & Buddy), go outside! I keep door to upstairs propped open, so cats can access litter, but no guest access to upstairs.
Preservation:
Please wash or brush sand off from beach before entering house. The outside shower is a great place to get sand off. There will be a cleaning charge if there is excessive sand on the floors, bedding, bath etc.
No bottles/glasses on wooden surfaces or wet towels on beds or on furniture.
Please refrain from wearing shoes in house. Unless you need to keep shoes on for medical reasons.
Please run bath fan during shower (switch by door)
Energy:
Please turn off lights and fan when you leave house and turn off exterior/interior lights when not in use.
Safety:
Please use plastic-ware on patio
Only battery operated candles, no open flames.
Private septic requirements:
Please nothing flushed other than toilet paper.
Courtesy:
Let me know if something breaks during your stay. Please no strong colognes or perfumes. Essential oils fragrances are preferred.
Make yourself at home in one of the air-conditioned guestrooms.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.
