The room was very clean, the staff was pleasant, and the night was very quiet, even though the hotel seemed to be full. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, though. Both mornings we had to ask the staff to replenish several of the food items. They should have been watching the food to refill as needed. As a personal comment, I prefer real oatmeal instead of the packaged stuff that is not nearly as healthy. So, I was disappointed that it wasn't offered. I also thought the area wasn't as clean as it should have been... with a lot of people eating and serving themselves, the counter tops and tables should have been regularly wiped down. We had to clean our own table off before sitting down to eat.

The staff at as friendly. We stayed in 3 separate rooms. One room smelled musty. One room was ok overall. In our room, the bathroom was not well cleaned or kept. There was pee on the toilet seat and mold in several places on the wall. The breakfast was the normal continental breakfast.

The front desk staffer was friendly and efficient but the room stank of mold. There were bugs in the dining area. The hotel is badly in need of renovation. The tub/shower in our room and the microwave were clearly not updated in decades - when was the last time you saw a microwave with dials?

Overall good experience. Staff a was friendly and check-in was easy. The room did have a weird smell and the bathrooms could use an update. They do a nice job in the morning with breakfast. It’s also located right next door to Tropical Smoothie.

Staff were very friendly from the front desk to the housekeepers. Free parking. That’s the positive. The hotel is old and dated. Our room smelled like mold and the bathroom smelled like a different variety of mold. Bathrooms could have been cleaner - hair from prior guests was on the sink, in the tub, etc. It was noisy - you hear all the doors closing up and down the hall and creaking noises if anyone above us walked in their room. People talking next door sounded like they were in our room. There was a big cricket in our bathroom and the curtain on the first floor was either a blackout curtain or open - no sheer option. If I paid $60 for the night, I would expect it. Paying $400 a night for JMU parent weekend was ridiculous. But I guess that’s just the way it is. We won’t be back.
