Middle level has kitchen and sitting room. Bathroom with shower is on middle level. Front porch and back deck have chairs and table for outside weather times. Motion detected flood lights at back porch for nighttime security.

Free, unlimited Wi-Fi keeps guests connected to the unbounded internet world. Full kitchen with dishwasher. All linens supplied. Washer and drier with laundry soap. Central air conditioning and heating keep the house comfortable. A fan and ceiling fan help move air through the house. Supplemental heating systems can be turned on if the weather is frightful.

The house accommodates six. Beds are on the top and bottom levels. On the top level is the bedroom with a queen bed. The bedroom has a half bath. On the top level, on the landing at the top of the steps, a twin-size day bed adds a sleeping option. On the bottom level, there is a queen pull out sofa and a twin pull out chair-and-a-half. The Pack 'n Play is usually set up on the landing area. Two baby gates are ready to set at the top or bottom of the stairs to keep your toddlers or dogs safe. The dog fee is $10 per dog per day. No fee for children still in school.
The house is one block off Main Street, 4.1 miles from Shepherdstown, West Virginia, 10 miles from Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and 13 miles from Hagerstown, Maryland. Harpers Ferry is about 14 miles the house. Gettsyburg National Military Park is about one hour from Sharpsburg.
The house is within walking distance to casual and fine dining and the famous Nutters Ice Cream Shop. The house is 1.7 miles from the Potomac River and the C&O Canal and towpath. Bikers have an up-hill ride from Snyders Landing to Chapline Street (1.5 miles) and a down-hill coast for the final two blocks to Antietam Guest House. The half-acre lot offers plenty of room for outside activity.
The house and location are perfect for weekend getaways and family vacations. Three levels offer privacy and convenience at the same time. The downstairs level features a 'living' rock wall foundation and a 'candleplace,' the stone fireplace transformed to hold real candles for the feel of a fire and romance without ashes and soot. The cable TV and DVD player with a selection of DVDs, board games, and a piano are on this level for your entertainment. Check out books and other materials from the local library using

Sharpsburg is a quiet, residential town of about 700. Its location makes it a great home base for exploring the wine trails and historical sites in Western Maryland, southern Pennsylvania, and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
In addition to the Antietam National Battlefield and Cemetery, you will find the Newcomer House Visitor and Information Center, the headquarters of the Sharpsburg District Historical Society, the Pry House Field Hospital Museum of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, John Brown's headquarters at the Kennedy Farm, the Antietam Iron Works, and Ferry Hill Plantation, home of Henry Kyd Douglas, Confederate officer who 'rode with Stonewall Jackson.'
Shepherdstown, WV, is filled with unique shops and outstanding restaurants. It is the home of Shepherd University and the Contemporary American Theater Festival, and a put-in spot for Potomac River activities.
For those who wish to venture farther from the immediate area, several state parks on the eastern border of Washington County offer other recreational opportunities. Those who wish to shop will find Hagerstown a mecca of shopping malls and Premium Outlets easily reached from main roads and Interstate highways.
