Clean rooms, beautiful grounds, great dining options and bar service! The only thing that made this stay on the annoying side (and was quite a common thing to see/discuss with others experiencing the same) was the key cards they use are very old and don't hold their charge, meaning coming back to your room with your arms full from shopping, tired or needing to use the restroom is your key would not work and you would have to go back to the front desk. At the desk however, they would tell you that your key got too hot, was close to your phone, etc., every single time, regardless that it never happened. Make them give you a new key (like other guests told us that they had to) and problem was solved! Just hate that it took so long and so many trips to the desk to get fixed. Other than that, was amazing!

The outside of the resort is nice. The rooms are a bit dated. I know they will be upgrading them soon but we walked over to The Riu next door which was less in price and the venue was very nice. Also the buffet at the next door venue is so much better. Riu Palace needs to upgrade their food. Also 3 different times we caught them using different alcohol and even water in their bottles. We saw another patron drink tequila and complained it was pure water. The bartender was so embarrassed and immediately fixed the situation. It’s honestly a nice property but needs upgrades.

This please was incredible!!! The food, the staff, the property, the entertainment was all top notch. We never did any of the restaurants because we had kids and didn’t want to wait in line so can say that the buffet has amazing food and soooo many options to choose from. There was always chairs to sit around the pool. The staff who do the entertainment were super fun and engaging. The wait staff especially Christopher were amazing at drinking you drinks either on the beach or around the pool!!! The rooms were made up everyday and stocked the mini fridge. Everyone was so friendly and helpful this was probably the nicest resort we have been to. 5 plus stars!!! Would go back tomorrow if I could

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive with a few exceptions. The food was great with lots of options. The property is beautiful, however the rooms are in need of a reno which is apparently happening this year. The $600 credit for each room is misleading as it is in the form of coupons that can only be redeemed for certain things.The spa was a disappointment. The massage was good but overpriced. The steam room was not functioning, and there was no communication as such. The Jacuzzi was not functioning fully either. The men’s change room had no hot water in the shower and there was a painting crew in there during regular hours. The painters were also going in and out of the ladies change room at their leisure which was incredibly uncomfortable. We have not stayed at a Riu before and not sure we will again.

The Riu Palace was awesome. We had a great stay, the staff were friendly and helped in any way. The hotel was kept immaculate the grounds lush even thou it was the dry season. All the restaurants the food was delicious. Definitely will be going back.

Its dated but will be going through renos soon. The $600 spa credit doesnt count towards the spa service. The steam shower wasnt working. Food was great, service was fantastic. Oscar, Keka, Aleandro and others were amazing. Come when renos are done. Or go to Guanecauste RIU for beautiful rooms. RIU is my fav chain of resorts. Been here about 12 yrs ago with a bf and was amazing. Keep up the good work RIU!

The staff is absolutely the greatest. They get to know you and really work hard to ensure you are having a great time. Food was good, rooms were clean. The resort is beautiful. I hope with the remodel they add another restaurant , like Mexican and add additional bathrooms by the pools. I look forward to returning

Rooms are dated but comfortable for the most part. Our mattress was sunken on each side which was annoying rooms = 6 The grounds are a 10, pools beach very nice. All staff was very professional. Weird line-up for speciality dining and I rate them a 6 on a 1-10 scale. Buffett was above average I give it an 8. Very slow bar service for any lunch or dinners. Pool bar doesn’t open till 10am😔 if this is your first all inclusive experience you would be very impressed.
