Will simply say I arrived btwn 12a.m.-1a.m. due to a very delayed flight via bad storms. The staff did not miss a beat. Everything went very smoothly. I checked in, received all the info needed re the hotel, the room was ready, was given the name of a restaurant willing to deliver at 1 a.m., etc. That was a sign of things to come.
From that point on, everything went very smoothly. The people at the hotel are ‘to a person,’ very nice [i.e., entire staff] , and they understand the concept of hospitality, not to mention ‘southern hospitality.’ Even the team that services the rooms is very helpful and always quite pleasant. Another memorable thing the hotel does quite well is the wonderful breakfast every morning, which you can have in your room or in the dining area. The only thing I would change is the hours for breakfast. 6:30-10:30 wkdys; until 11 wknds.
One other aspect I particularly appreciated was the location. Everything you might need is in walking distance (e.g., museums, groceries, pharmacies, boutiques, etc.). Note, while downtown and on the main street, the hotel feels simultaneously off the beaten path. You can be in the center of things with a five-minute walk, and away from that center in another five minutes. In other words, it was in a quiet and lovely location, especially for a restful sleep after a long day.
Finally, If you need to be in the area at any time for work or for relaxation…this hotel, its staff, and its location are unsurpassed.
