Dog Friendly, Cosy Fisherman's Cottage Within 150 Metres Of A Long Sandy Beach

Sandy Cottage is an original mid 1800's semi detached Fisherman's Cottage. Refurbished to a high standard it boasts a central location in the old part of Caister village, approximately 150 metres from the quiet sandy beach and dunes (Dog friendly beach all year). Fishing is popular on the local beach, with a good selection of different species being caught all year round. Views of the Caister Life Boat Station and a partial sea view can be seen from the front bedroom window. With off street parking for 2 vehicles on a gravel driveway to the front of the cottage there is also plenty of additional parking on the road down the side of the property. The nearest pub and chip shop are situated about 150 metres away with several other pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops within a 5-10 minute walk. The moated Caister Castle and the Beautiful Norfolk Broads National Park are just a very short drive away, giving you the opportunity to explore the Broads and maybe do some fishing aboard your very own Broads cruiser which you can hire for a day from one of the many local boatyards. The Cathedral City of Norwich is situated within a 30 minute drive. With its Castle, many Historical attractions and endless shops restaurants and entertainment, your sure to find something for everyone. The Seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is just 3 miles away with good public transport links (buses every 10 minutes). If you enjoy the flashing lights of the arcades on the seafront, enjoy a few white knuckle rides or are looking for some night-life then its well worth a visit. It also hosts a Shopping Centre, Racecourse, Golf course and Dog/Banger racing Stadium. This property is truly outstanding. It was wonderfully clean and boasts everything one could possibly need for a holiday and then many extras too. Beds are extremely comfortable , showers nice and hot and the beach could not be any closer. Its quite central to shops, fish and chip shops and a lovely dog friendly pub. We all loved it and are looking forward to a return visit when we can get the time off! The hosts are friendly, helpful and very quick to respond to e-mails.

This is our second or third stay at Sandy Cottage and doubtless there will be more. Very comfortable and well equipped, owners very patient and helpful for people like me who find the vrbo app very complicated, fish and chip shop around the corner at other end of street, front garden parking so nice snd close to front door, short walk to beach - what’s not to like? don’t be scared of the steep stairs just use both hands to come down and one firm hand to ascend!

Second time staying at this property and just like before it was fantastic. The property was lovely and clean and brilliantly equipped with everything you need making it a real home from home. Self catering is really easy as the kitchen is fully equipped including ample fridge and freezer space. With the added convenience of having a dishwasher and washing machine. For those travelling with younger children there is a travel coat, high chair and steriliser too.The beds were all comfy and plenty of towels supplied too.We were a family of 4 adults, 1 teen, 1 child and a dog and there was more than enough space for us all. The court yard seating was great for enjoying the afternoon sun, and the beach was just a short walk away. We even saw a family of seals in the sea just a short distance from the shore.Caister itself has everything you need locally including a lovely bakery, supermarkets, take aways and pubs. And just a short drive into Yarmouth for more family activities. Gary was super helpful providing all the check in details in advance and provided contact details if we needed anything during our stay, however all the cottage details were also provided at the property too making everything simple and straightforward.We will certainly be returning!

Clean, well equipped cottage with enclosed courtyard ideal for our grandchildren and dog. Very close to sandy dog friendly beach and near the Caister life boat. Excellent cafe and shop in the visitor centre. Would certainly return again a good base for exploring the area by bus or car.

Although we managed with 5 adults 1 child and an infant I would suggest only 4 adults. House was well equipped and perfect location for the beach. Owners were outstanding as they returned items we had left, including an iPhone charger.

Lovely house, great location

Lovely house, very clean and tidy, and has an upstairs bathroom which is a massive bonus in this area! Kitchen has all things you will need, plenty of cutlery, plates, glasses etc. Plenty of towels, although the bath towels could be a little larger! TV's in every room which is a nice touch. Nice little courtyard garden with table & chairs. Nice takeaways nearby, Brilliant fish & chips was good. Thoroughly enjoyed our week and will definitely look to book this house again.

Good Location

Great location to beach shops and pubs. Comfortable house everything you need, but the Staircase is very steep and narrow so not suitable for everyone. The court yard garden had a lovely sunny aspect, but needed sweeping daily , also the Barbecue was very rusty , as pointed out by previous reviews so we didn’t use it. On the whole we enjoyed our stay
