This review is based on our experience on June 5, 2025. This property is being converted from another hotel brand and things are almost certain to be better when the conversion and the accompanying renovations are complete. Our room was only partly done. We had a new bed which was very comforrtable! The carpet appeared to be new as well. But the bathroom had not been renovated and the silicone around the sink and between the tub and the shower enclosure certainly showed age - lots of age! There was a patch on the ceiling where some of the old stipple had crumbled and fallen and old nailholes in the walls where art or the TV had previously been hung had been covered with drywall filler but not sanded or finiished. The door had numerous scratches and chips so it also needs attention. That's a lot of negatives and I am sorry to have to be so brutally honest because the staff was awesome, the bed incredibly great and we saw lots of evidence that everyone involved was committed to making this a much better place.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The most important aspect of a hotel for me is cleanliness, and it excelled at this. Perhaps ever so slightly dated, but would not hesitate to stay again. The location was convenient, too.

Great band (Crossroads) in the bar. Nice spacious dance floor. Great wings and breakfast the next morning. The morning breakfast crew could be faster. Waited a long time for our food, but it was delicious.

Clean, quiet, convenient. I prefer the Bangor Grande for the overnight before a crazy early flight after visiting Acadia National Park. (That is for American to PHL or United to EWR). The free shuttle (at 4:30 AM) means I can drop off the rental car the night before. I also recommend the broiled Halibut at the restaurant for lighter fare. Pool area well kept, too.
