HENDERSONS is a beautiful, welcoming Federation-style home set along the picturesque Tamar River in Gravelly Beach, right in the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine Region in Northern Tasmania.
The original section of the house is over 100 years old. Renovated in 2014, we chose to preserve many of its unique character features while adding our own decorative touches.
Our home is perfect in every season. In the cooler months it feels cosy and warm, while in summer it is light, fresh and airy.
When you book Hendersons, the entire home is exclusively yours. It offers excellent value with large front and back yards and one of its standout features — the swimming pool. The location is ideal, positioned along the Tamar Valley in the peaceful place of Gravelly Beach.
The home features a spacious living area with four couches, perfect for relaxing together. The dining room is separate and enjoys lovely afternoon sun, comfortably seating eight guests in a bright, sunny space. Nearby is the breakfast bar and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need within easy reach. The kitchen includes a brand-new oven and electric cooktop, new benchtops, sink and splashback, a dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine with pods, and a large fridge and freezer.
The front verandah offers a gorgeous outlook across the palm trees and the Tamar River — an ideal spot to enjoy a sunrise and make lasting memories with loved ones.
Hendersons has four spacious bedrooms accommodating up to nine guests, with a mix of firm and soft mattresses to suit most preferences. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are located at the front of the house, facing east with Tamar River views and beautiful morning light.

For winter comfort, all bedrooms are heated. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have individual heat pumps, while bedrooms 3 and 4 are fitted with panel heaters. All beds have electric blankets, with extra blankets available if needed. The lounge room also has a heat pump to keep the home cosy.
For summer, air conditioning is available in bedrooms 1 and 2, as well as the lounge room. These are reverse-cycle heat pumps — please ensure the correct setting is selected.
The house has two bathrooms, both with heat lighting and exhaust fans. Bathroom 1 includes a separate toilet, while bathroom 2 incorporates the laundry. A washing machine and dryer are provided for guest use.
The large concrete swimming pool is perfect for a Tasmanian summer. It measures approximately 12m x 4.5m, with depths ranging from 1.6m to 2m. The pool is solar heated only, so water temperature depends on Tasmanian weather conditions. Solar heating operates from October to March, with the warmest swimming conditions typically between December and February. The pool is available year-round, weather permitting.
We provide pool noodles, games and equipment for your enjoyment. The pool is saltwater chlorinated, and children must always be supervised.
Hendersons is perfectly positioned on the Tamar Valley Wine Route, offering a scenic drive past numerous cellar doors. We’re happy to suggest our favourites upon request.

The property is located on the main road in Gravelly Beach, with vehicle access via Hendersons Lane. Secure parking for two cars is available at the rear of the property. Additional parking may be available upon request, subject to designated areas.
Hendersons is approximately 25 minutes from Launceston CBD and around 40 minutes from Launceston Airport.
A short walk along the main road leads to a family-friendly park, boat ramp, basketball court and skate park. Gravelly Beach is ideal for kids, boating enthusiasts, water skiing and outdoor fun.
Two local cafés — Rivergrass and Paperbark — are just a short walk away, along with a General Store/Post Office and the homewares and gift store My Tasmanian Home. Please check their social media pages for current opening hours.
Exeter is a 5-minute drive and offers two IGA supermarkets, a pub and bottle shop, butcher, café, wine centre, takeaway options, fuel stations and more.
Legana is approximately 12 minutes away and features a large shopping complex including Woolworths, BWS, KFC, Banjo’s, a tavern, Bento, butcher, fuel station and more.
