Despite what hotels.com said on their site nothing was mentioned about using a credit card exclusively for a deposit and a few years ago cash was accepted. I had 250 for a deposit and had paid online for the room prior to me trying to check and I got turned away having to sleep in my pickup in winter weather. I needed a room because my lane was to deep in snow and I couldn't have plowed and been to work in time. I am absolutely disgusted by the requirement they had that were different from the instructions of just needing a deposit of $50. Nothing was said about a credit card. Again the room has already been paid for in full. When I called to complain the next morning the hotel just said they refused the payment and I would have due get my money back after about a weeks wait. I will never have any further dealings with this hotel and hope this website ceases work with them.
