So many options for breakfast. Even fresh lemon for tea. Room clean and comfortable. Check in and out very easy. Was able to park right in front of hotel at no charge but they also have covered parking for a fee.
I booked this hotel because of their very nice accessibility to wheelchairs. I am in an electrical wheelchair and my own lift and toilet chair.
Arriving at the hotel we got a room with no roll-in shower. We went to ask for a roll-in shower room as it was promised in the hotel description and got told that none of their rooms had roll-in shower, despite their description. When we asked for their handicap van parking, we got told they only had a normal parking basement with very limited height so their promise of a handicap van parking was also false. The room was old, worn down and not a pleasant experience. Also we were promised a gaming console that was not there. They promised Premium bedding and we got something far from that. In the middle of the night, my helper had to remove all the sheets to remove a plastic sheet, since he was bathed in sweat because of the plastic. In the morning we uncovered a matress with disgusting stains everywhere. it was so disgusting that it should have been thrown out 10 years ago. I am horrified and utterly disgusted by this place.
They also charged me for a breaklfast that I didnt get to, since I did not want to sit in their restaurant unshowered and dirty in the morning.
All in all one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my life and I can NOT, under any circumstances recomment this place for anyone that valuie their money or are in a wheelchair.
The pictures on Hotels.com does NOT match the hotel at all. Far from 4 stars, maybe 2
The hotel is close to the train station and next to the old Orangerie. However it is a15-20 minute walk to the center of town. There is only one restaurant in the neighborhood, but the hotel restaurant is fairly good. The rooms need electrical outlets accessible for charging cell phones.
Room was clean and spacious, breakfast (12 Euro extra) was awesome, staff was friendly. The free wifi is useless, too slow to load emails or Facebook chat. High-speed wifi had to be purchased separately. The paid wifi was fast enough for personal stuff, still struggled to use it for work.
The Hotel was clean, bed was good and the room very comfortable, these are my main criteria for a business hotel stay. The restaurant was offers a reasonably choice of meals and their are lots of varying restaurant options close by if you fancy more of a variety in styles / tastes. The breakfast selection was excellent. Staff were polite and very attentive when assistance was required. A good experience.
This hotel is new. I was stopping overnight and it had a nice bar/restaurant etc. The negative surprise was the pathetic internet. You couldn't even purchase better internet. It was barely able to provide gmail access. I told the staff about my problems with internet and they were sympathetic but couldn't provide solutions. I wouldn't stay here again due to the poor internet because I require it while I'm travelling.
PentaHotel Gera is a resort-status hotel, with an excelent buffet restaurant, clean,state-of-the-art rooms and full fitness-room facilities. It is very close and convenient to the Train Station in Gera.
This Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Main Railway Station. Overall we were impressed with the cleanliness and general comfort of the room and have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers. If I had to suggest an improvement I would say that the installation of extraction in the bathroom would be a good thing, but this I know would be a major expense, I have to say that the lack of it caused us no problems. Breakfast was very expensive, so we found a small Bakerei (I hope thats how you spell it) 5 minutes up the road which did an excellent breafast for about a quarter of the price. A major improvement from our point of view would have been tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom.
