Pluses and minuses

The place was lovely. Both parties found our room to be overly warm. The breakfast room was packed and overwhelming. Front desk was very helpful at check in and where to eat. It's unfortunate there can't at least be an unloading area, especially for people with disabilities. If you are driving in, make sure you read your email about where to park!

Don't have breakfast

We had to get our room changed three times over a 3 night stay. First one TV not functioning properly. Second one, they had not serviced the room that day, and the third one, we had to ask for a remote control for the TV. The windows were grimey and finally the breakfast is not worth the ยฃ15 per head, as it is cheap and nasty and not warm. Surprisingly for Scotland Haggis was not offered either.

Went for my 40th birthday and felt like the room was old and tired. Shower tray had mould and wall next to curtains had scrapes on it. Felt disappointed in this hotel. Also fire alarm at 5:15am yesterday which woke us up.

The Clayton Hotel was lovely and the team extremely friendly. I managed to have a nice run on the Glasgow Green which was amazing! Only drawback was room access. I was on the South Wing which meant finding my way in the maze. ๐Ÿ˜…

Check in terrible, forced to use self service kiosk. So wasnโ€™t offered my free upgrade or any of the gold member benefits. Receptionist was rude. Room was dirty, left over half drank bottles of water, despite booking for 3 people and only 2 towels were presented. Room was covered in markings all over the walls. Really could do with a tidy and lick of paint, bathroom however was spotless and lovely and modern. Finally the duvet covers were so thick and heavy you couldnโ€™t sleep as it was so hot. The TOG rating must have been really high.

Iv stayed in this hotel a few times and Iv had good experiences every time. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I struggle with social anxiety and the online check in and check out made me feel much more comfortable with my stay.
