Good room, after getting moved from the original very noisy (mechanical systems) room they first fobbed off on us. Breakfasts were top notch. Parking in the on-site garage was easy enough, though it sometimes took time waiting at the front desk to have the tickets validated. Very easy in/out otherwise, without any city traffic to contend with. On-site dining (other than breakfasts) left a lot to be desired. Noisy and cold, and the food was just okay. Another hotel on the next block over really sets the bar much higher by comparison. Elevators were quirky, with the floor buttons not staying illuminated once in motion, but they did work. Might stay here again.

The property was clean & inviting. Staff was available & helpful & smiling. Restaurant & Bar were open & nice options for women travelers. (My husband accompanied me, but I felt safe & welcomed around the facilities. We used the outdoor hot tub. (The hot tub was a key feature in our stay. Unfortunately the indoor hot tub was hot “up to temperature”) We enjoyed the “hot water pot” in the room.

The Galmount hotel is fab. The spa is something else. Staff so lovely. Super brekkie. Excellent food in bar and restaurant. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Couldn’t get better location. Staff so accommodating too. Can’t fault it.

This was our third time staying here, we love Galway and find the hotel to be in an ideal location, nice food, very comfortable rooms and the leisure centre is brilliant. A highlight is the outdoor jacuzzi! One problem we had was that on both nights, the service was very slow and haphazard during our dinner. Servers were forgetting orders, main courses taking ages to come etc. On the second night we didn’t bother having any dessert due to the long waits between courses. We thought it was just a case of bad luck where we were sitting, as on the first night we were seated around the corner in a quiet area of the bar, and understandably we were easy to miss. However, on the second night we were in a more “obvious” spot, and still found it very slow. It certainly won’t deter us from staying again, but might be something worth thinking about for how the restaurant staff are organised and trained.
