The Young and the Restless and the Rude
I called the front desk to request a new room with a beach view. She stated I’d have to call back the next morning at 9AM to see if they had a room available. Later that night at 1:00AM it sounded like a track meet. Kids were running in the hall until 1:30AM. And the upstairs guests sounded like it was WWE wrestling. I called the front desk 3 times and no one answered. We were on the 1st floor so it was impossible that the front desk did not hear all of the kids running and playing in the hallway. Next day I spoke to the same front desk rep and she was so nonchalant. She wouldn’t look up from her cell phone long enough to have a conversation. I asked her if someone was on duty the night before because no one answered the phone. She had a bunch of excuses. When we got back to the hotel later that evening we asked for fresh towels. She said they didn’t have any and gave us pool towels. The next day I asked for towels again and the SAME rep said she still didn’t have any. We stopped a very nice lady that was cleaning rooms and she went to the laundry room and asked that staff to give her some towels for us. The front desk rep could’ve done that too but she was busy on her phone again. This has always been our go-to Galveston hotel, but after this visit we will find a new hotel. The front desk rep that was there the whole weekend was unprofessional and the hotel was so noisy late night. I’m not sure if it was the staff or management but this stay was “not good”.
