Although it’s not a luxury hotel, it is clean, and the staff is professional and accommodating. We stayed here from April 29th to May 5th to revisit our daughter's favorite spots in Gainesville before her graduation from UF. At check-in on April 29th, the young man at the front desk was kind and allowed us to inspect three rooms. The first had a window that wouldn't close properly, and the second had noisy air conditioning. The third room faced the front and was quite sunny, making us worried about warmth. I bought painter's tape at Home Depot to seal the first room's window to keep bugs out at night. The rooms are spacious, and I appreciated the separate sink area in the bathroom, allowing for privacy. Without area rugs, the room felt cleaner, and the sheets and towels were fresh. I always bring my own pillow protectors and Clorox wipes for added cleanliness. We also spoke with Jose at the front desk, who was friendly and professional. While hotels in Gainesville can be pricey during UF events, this place offered decent accommodations for our stay.

Unfinished business

I often choose Red Roof because of their pet policy. But I was not traveling with my dog this time. However, the rooms are clean and spacious, parking is easy, and their rates cannot be beat.

Room was filthy, extremely humid, poor air quality. Banging all night long as well. Sheets were stained. Would not recommend.

After reading online reviews I was hesitant about keeping the reservation. The front desk clerk was accommodating when I asked to look at the room prior to check in. She was notably annoyed though. The room appeared clean except for the dirty walls in the bedroom. The hair dryer was cracked but worked and the bathroom did have some notable mold in caulking. I ranked this 3 stars because for the $275+ per night it came up subpar. No insects seen. The tiled floor appeared clean. We downgraded from a 2 night stay to just one night and booked the other nights elsewhere.

Ripped off by Hotels.com

I booked a reservation through Hotels.com. My plans changed. I susequently canceled this reservation through Hotels.com. Done? No. On the day AFTER I was originally check-in, I received an email from Red Roof Inn that I checked in and they charged my credit card. Hotels.com was unable to secure a refund. Never stepped foot on the hotel property.

Very very dirty hotel. The whole place needs a deep clean. Black mold spots on ceiling in bathroom. AC sounds like an airplane taking off. AC coated in dust. Overall, I will never stay in a red roof inn again. Clean and inspect your property

This is an older property that has not been renovated for many years. Everything looks used and run down, shower curtains torn, shower curtain rod falling off the wall, door frames need paint, linens are very worn and feel cheap. There's no closet, just a rod beside the TV. No counter around the bathroom sink to put your toiletries. The AC was so loud that it wire is up numerous times through the night. To top it off this was an "upgraded" room and we paid close to $400 a night. At best, this might be OK for $70 a night.

I want to thank your staff for great customer service and kindness to accommodate the best they could. The only complaint is the up keep of the hotel. It needs to be updated and the room had a very strong odor that made it very uncomfortable to sleep, very unpleasant. The management of hotel needs to update the hotel. The location is excellent.
