This is such a unique beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and super helpful. We used the private transfer service from and to the airport which we organised through the hotel and it really did make for a stress free arrival. We were checked in early, we had an annex room which was spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely with good variety of food. The location is fabulous allowing us to walk to great restaurants and bars and all the sites. We recommend this hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfectly located in the city centre, everything is walkable, from shops to restaurants and main attractions. Staff were also very helpful with every questions I had and recommendations. The only downside is there’s no on-site parking, so I had to use a nearby parkade about a 10-minute walk away.

I enjoyed my stay at the SE Boutique Hotel. The rooftop bar is a highlight serving some great cocktails and the breakfast was consistently good. However there were some downsides - the local area is noisy late into the night and it was necessary to keep the room curtains closed for privacy as the room was directly overlooked from flats in the opposite streets. Some staff were friendly and helpful but some were not.

A lovely hotel in a fabulous location

Hotel is perfectly positioned in the old town of Funchal with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants very close by. The room was a good size and we had beautiful sea views. Breakfast had a good selection however earliest access was 7:30am which was a problem as many tours had a pick up pre 8am. Due to a relatively small dining area, this caused a bottle neck for other guests also. For some mornings breakfast felt very rushed for us and far from ideal ahead of a days hiking.

Great boutique hotel located conveniently for exploring Funchal. Special thank you to the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Pros: central location, stylish design, good breakfast, excellent rooftop bar. Cons: standard rooms are tiny and have very little light (would recommend standard plus instead), some rooms in need of refurbishment, facilities like pool were unavailable. Overall, I would recommended this place.
