Staff members are very efficient and helpful! Room was very clean but dated need renovation. TV not working but good WiFi connection and I can watch TV news using my iPad! Breakfast is ok! Lot of shop , restaurants and supermarkets near by.

Confirm your booking before your stay

We were booked here and upon arrival at 10:30 pm were told they were overbooked. Apparently there was a system issue and several others were without a room. The front desk employee was lovely and arranged another hotel for us and a taxi to bring us there. We ended-up at a fine hotel. However, it was 40 mins from the center. I am not sure if the glitch was on their end, hotels.com, etc. but I don’t understand why we weren’t contacted prior to arrival given that all the arrangements were made for us to relocate.

Hotel closed - guests redirected to another hotel

Tricky one as I’d made my booking for Hotel do Centro and arrived at reception for check-in to be told the hotel was in fact closed and all guests would be staying at a sister hotel on the same street - Hotel Windsor. Despite arriving at 4pm, they didn’t have a room ready for me and the staff were OTT with Covid-secure measures - while appreciated, it made the welcome quite stressful but the hotel itself was fine for one night.

Reception staff were all very helpful. Hotel is in a good location. There weren’t really enough power sockets in the room. And the breakfast room had no windows so was rather poor. The coffee tasted like instant and the tea was from an urn - not tea at all. But we were pleased they at least had brown rolls.

Good value in the city center

This hotel is situated in the very heart of Funchal. It doesn't excel in anything but given its location and the prices I would say it is very good value for the money. Rooms are quite small, breakfast so and so, quite noisy in the night, but overall it's good for people that want a good location and not staying too much in the hotel.

Disappointed Trip

There is not much I can tell you. After doing a confirmed booking with Hotels.com and carrying the reservation details with us, they told us at the hotel that they could not accomodate us, since they had someone else staying in the room reserved for us. We had to then carry our bags from one place to another until we found a hotel to stay in. So there is either something very wrong with your organization, or you are dealing with THIRD CLASS hotels.

Great value for money

We liked everything about this hotel. Friendly reception staff who spoke excellent English. Very nice breakfast. Very clean and spacious room. Ours had a balcony. Nice clean , spacious bathroom. Good location in the old part of town.

I do not recommend this hotel

If you need a parking spot don’t rely on what it says here on the booking portal. I advised them before my stay that I would need a parking spot but they couldn’t provide it because they don’t really have a parking space. There a just a few parking spots in a partner hotel so you depend on being lucky or not. The staff at the reception was not helpful either. Breakfast was below standard. 1 hour after opening time the buffet was very empty. When I mentioned it to the staff the answer was that it’s just a simple basic breakfast. I believe there is a difference in a basic breakfast or empty buffet and I should not have to ask to refill the food. Although my stay was in November the room was so hot and air conditioning wasn’t working properly and was really loud. The only good thing to mention about the hotel was the location.

Centralt hotell i Funchal.

Perfekt hotell för den som vill bo i centrala Funchal och ha nära till allt i staden. Det finns ett Supermarket precis bredvid. Jag bodde i ett enkelrum som var rymligt och bra. Frukosten var enkel men god. Wifi fungerade utan problem. Jag skulle gärna bo här även nästa gång om jag skulle komma till Funchal.
