I was humiliated by the receptionists.
I have been traveling for business for 30 years and have stayed in hundreds of hotels, but this is the first time I have ever been treated so disrespectfully in a hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel on September 22nd at approximately 10:20 PM, I was asked to pay for the four nights I had booked. I explained to the two receptionists that my company credit card would only debit the funds for the night's stay after midnight, and that I would have no problem paying the following morning when the funds were available. The women refused to accept this and insisted that I pay for the first night with my personal credit card. When I refused, they demanded payment in cash for the first night.I had to arrange cash to pay for the first night. The receptionists told me they would refund the cash the following morning after I paid by credit card. The younger one added that if I didn't pay for the hotel room the next day, I would be evicted and the room would be given to another guest. Of course, the following morning the money was back on my corporate credit card, and I paid without any problems. The hotel then refunded the cash. I have never been so humiliated in front of other hotel guests. The receptionists' behavior suggested that I might be an unscrupulous person trying to cheat the hotel. I didn't encounter empathetic, helpful receptionists, but rather two cold, uncaring bureaucrats.
