Merchants Town House - Catherine Hill
Summary:
Indulge in a rejuvenating retreat at The Merchant’s Town House, nestled in the vibrant St. Catherine's artisan quarter. This stylish homestay, once the residence of a prosperous cloth merchant, embodies a rich history. Set on the site of a medieval chapel, it captures the essence of St. Catherine's Hill's cobbled streets—the very birthplace of Frome's thriving artisan community. Immerse yourself in character and heritage at this welcoming abode in the heart of Frome.
The Space:
The entrance to the Merchant’s Town House is under an archway leading to Catherine Hill. On the ground floor, there is a stylish kitchen with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, breakfast bar and children’s dinnerware. A sunny courtyard leads off the kitchen, with a sofa and lighting. There is a separate dining room that seats 8 and ample crockery and glassware.
Upstairs there is a spacious king ensuite bedroom with views over Catherine Hill. A further king and double bedroom. All bedrooms have comfortable Nature Mat mattresses, hotel-quality linens and bath sheets. There is a further family bathroom with a bath/shower. We provide Faith in Nature toiletries for guests to use during their stay.
The lounge is also on the first floor and is the room that sits atop the underpass below. With double-aspect windows, ample seating and huge TV with Netflix and On Demand channels. Please note the sofa is a sofa bed and extra bedding can be provided for a small fee.
While there's no on-site parking, nearby streets and car parks offer convenient spaces, details are provided upon booking.
Guest Access:
Parking: The property is situated at the end of a cobbled pedestrianised street where you can unload. However, you will need to park on one of the roads surrounding the property or in the large paid car park by M&S Foods.
Just outside the property are steps down to Catherine Hill with a solid handrail.
Please also note the toilet/bathroom at the property is situated on the first floor, so this property may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
