Once you walk into the lobby, a strong, pungent odor welcomes you in. The lobby carpet and couches are badly stained, carrying through the elevator. The room is no better either. The carpeting has stains everywhere, and the bathroom has stain marks on the walls and the bathroom door. The complementary breakfast selection was more of a continental breakfast - most are preheated. Once again, the cleanliness in this place is not a priority. Tables were not wiped, and trash cans were overflowing with garbage. The workers were busy talking in the back room rather than keeping up with the dirty tables, filling up empty food containers, emptying the filled trash cans, or mopping the sticky floors.

We stayed here for a trip to the sequoias. Place was clean and conveniently located. Only a 45 minute drive to the park entrance. The free breakfast made the trip much easier.

overall from the exterior, it looked clean, but the housekeeper was asked for toilet paper and she brought one roll and she never asked if I needed towels or anything else. The continental breakfast is all frozen food. Someone spilled coffee and it was left there for about two hours. The tables are dirty. I normally stay at Holiday Inn expresses, but this one was probably the dumpiest.

The breakfast was very sparse at the end of the time frame…like nothing in the fridge and nothing in the warmers and the pancake maker was out of order. The outdoor pool was very nice! Our last Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Salinas was so eco-friendly! And, the Salinas breakfast was a well-oiled machine! Breakfast staff cleaned tables and took out full trash. This didn’t happen in Visalia. Recycling in the Salinas room - love it. Hopefully Visalia can take note of the recycling option.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our request to have our room be next do our fellow travelers was honored in a prompt and courteous manner. The room and property were very clean and modern. Only problem was the king bed had a huge dip (more like a crater) on one side, making it impractical to sleep on that side. Too late and too tired to request a room change. We let them know at checkout of the problem. Not sure how this was not known. All in all, a very good stay and we highly recommend this location.
