Weekend stay
Overall we had a nice stay for a long weekend as a couple. However, upon arrival at exactly their check in time of 4pm, our room was not ready. We were hoping to be able to change clothes (out of our winter attire as we’re from the Midwest) and freshen up before going for dinner. We were told we could change in the bathroom in the lobby. The lady who was assisting us when we arrived was super nice and apologetic. She did say that our room was upgraded but I honestly can’t confirm if our eventual room was better than it would have been originally. Oh, and we weren’t the only ones affected. There were other guests in the same situation of not having their room ready at check in time. The resort was not crowded by any means, so I’m not sure how they can handle having rooms ready when they are! The resort is beautiful and my favorite was the outside area with the fire pits. Despite being right above the street, when you’re there, you wouldn’t even know the cars are there, and you still see the beach. The pool area is nice but they are very strict. They do sell day passes to the public so it can be more crowded. I believe that Wednesdays are free access to people age 55+. We weren’t there for that but I bet that can get super busy. They do not allow any outside food or beverages in the pool area. If you bring a Stanley, Yeti, etc, they will hold it until you leave. They do have big water coolers with small plastic cups for water. They check bags as you go in. Loved the beach!!
