Overall, this was a great apartment! Here is our "honest" review. The owner does a great job communicating with us before, during, and after our visit. He provided great materials before we arrived to help us get into the apartment and more. He happened to be in the area so he met us at the apartment. The place is right in the middle of the busy downtown district. So the location is wonderful. Florence is a walking town and everything is close. Plenty of restaurants near and a grocery store about 4 minutes away. The train station is a 12 minute walk. It was easy to get everywhere from this apartment. There is a room with a queen and a loft with two twins which was perfect for my family of 4 (2 parents and 2 teenagers). Since we are in the middle of the tourist area, it was loud at night. We use "sound machines" to drown out the noise. As is normal in European apartments, the kitchen and bathroom were quite small but sufficient. It was also nice to have a washing machine. (If you are tall, keep in mind that the ceiling in the bathroom is pretty low.) The apartment is on the second floor and there is not an elevator. The amenities (towels, shampoo, etc.) were all good. Just note that if you book through VRBO that you will be asked to pay a city tax directly to the owner immediately before using the apartment. This is normal in Italy.Overall, a great host and apartment. We would stay here again if we ever visit Florence again.
