Our stay at this bed and breakfast was disappointing. The building is old and lacks an elevator, which was not mentioned in the Expedia listing. We had to climb six flights of stairs, making it extremely difficult to carry our suitcases to the room. The experience felt more like staying in a dormitory than a comfortable accommodation. For the price, it was not worth it—it was not cheap, and the overall experience did not justify the cost. While we love Florence, this particular stay did not meet our expectations. We raised our concerns with Expedia but would not recommend this location.

Amazing location and Clean

The room was very clean and the person at front desk was very nice. He called us a taxi to the airport when we left. The location was perfect. There was no window in our room (we knew that going into it) it wasn’t too hot, it was nice and cool. The bathroom being outside of the room was a little inconvenient but was private to just us and was very clean.

A basic, clean level of accommodation at an inexpensive price - for Florence! No frills, double bed needs upgrading. No elevator so be prepared to climb up 40 narrow steps to your room so travel light if you are older travellers as we were. Quiet. Nice shower and bathroom and a stone’s throw away from main tourist attractions!

An easy walk with from the train station and very conveniently located among Florence’s most important sites. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was kind and friendly.

My wife and I have a wonderful experience in Florence and stay in Guest House Bel Duomo, the location is super convenient, bed comfortable, the building a little old, we were in the four floor and didn’t have elevator but wasn’t a problem, we had our own bathroom but outside our room, with our own key to access, I never experienced that before but it was ok. Super safe area, nice staff and once again, the location literally next to the Florence Duomo is unbeatable.

Perfect location !! The room is clean and the sheets on the bed looks brand new . It is an old building but has everything what you need . We stayed just one night, and we walked everywhere., the Duomo and Cathedral are just around the corner.

82 steps up to our room and our bathroom was down the hall and around the corner. No offer of help with carrying 1 suitcase and a backpack up the stairs either. Had scaffolding right outside our window to our surprise a man standing there when we opened the curtains.

The room we rented had a spectacular view of the cathedral's dome. Most of the rest of the cathedral was obscured by other buildings around the courtyard, but the view of the dome was fantastic. For prospective travelers: This hotel has very little advertisement on the outside of the building. We almost missed the entrance entirely. There is a door that opens up onto the street, and you need to press a button to have a staff let you in. As a warning to those who are traveling with heavy or large luggage: you will need to climb 82 steps (yes, we counted them!) to get to the room. We had a 50-lb suitcase with us that, aside from trekking across the cobblestones and uneven pavement from the train station, I ended up hauling all the way up to the room and down again after our stay. We also had a stroller and other suitcases. So, all things considered, I may not have chosen this particular property if I had known about the stairs. The room itself was very spacious. The bathroom was cold, and there was no real way to make it warmer. But the room had a heater, and this kept us pretty warm during our stay. During the night, we could hear some of the commotion in the courtyard. Some family was having a party. Another was having an argument. But overall it was mostly quiet. I highly recommend this place for travelers who do not have large or heavy suitcases.

Ideally located if you want to climb up the Florence Dome in the early morning. It is only two minutes away from the entrance gate. The staff was very kind and helpful. I heartily recommend you this guest house. Just keep in mind that they do not have an elevator (a lift). So you need to go up the stairs before getting to the front desk.

Simply perfect. Absolutely amazing location. You are in the center of everything, but when you are in your room it does not feel that way. Amazing people running the place. We had a wonderful stay. We also got lucky with the Duomo view from our balcony. The church bell will wake you up bright and early at 7:00—no need for an alarm!
