This resort is both an awesome family resort while simultaneously an awesome party resort. It is large but not to the point of inconvenience, the staff is amazing, every single one. The women running the kids club activites were one of a kind they made the trip.

I was disappointed with my experience. While most of the staff were friendly, the food was absolutely terrible. There weren’t many activities to keep guests entertained, and the pool closed way too early. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place—there are definitely better options out there. Try elsewhere!

The staff are incredible at the property with big shout outs to Paul in the sports bar and Deavante in steakhouse for going extra mile each time we met with them. This hotel is incredible and cannot wait to return with the dining and bar options to the pools, stunning sea views and even the mini water park with such fun slides.

We really enjoyed that the pool was always a party. We also admired that the hotel staff worked together constantly to keep the hotel clean. The staff was all very inviting as well

For the 5nights we stayed here, it was fun and entertaining and had loads to do. there wasnt a dull day on property. We had many excursions planned and we only did one as we didnt want to miss anything!!! highly recommend this for anyone .. will surely be back!

I recently stayed at the Riu Aquarelle with family and friends. Here is the feedback I got from everyone: Pros: Staff members are super helpful and friendly. They made us feel like home. Special shout out to Adrian and Latoya, these two individuals made us feel like royalty. The entertainment staff are AMAZING! We had Las Vegas Shows every night. The hotel is well kept and clean. Cons: The staff neglected to clean our room properly EVERY SINGLE DAY! Dirty towels were left on the floor, dirty wash cloths were left hanging in the shower, our toilet was not cleaned properly. We were VERY dissatisfied with our room cleaner. If you are looking for a true Jamaican experience, this is not the hotel to go to. There is no Jamaican music throughout the hotel. During the day the pool music is nonexistent. Music comes on somewhere around 3pm and even then, it felt like we were begging for music. We would have loved to have listen to Jamaican music the entire time we were there. There should be soft Jamaican music playing through the halls for patron enjoyment. There is absolutely NO NIGHT LIFE, so after the show, there are no clubs, no party life. The food is not great. The Jamaican dishes are limited and too spicy for non spicy eaters. Overall the food, tasted like mass produced food. Even the burgers were horrible. There is a hut on the side of the pool where you can get Jerk chicken and festival...That's pretty much the only thing I enjoyed. Steak house - NO Good!

We arrived at the resort right at checkin time 3:00pm. However, we were told our room was not ready and the wait would be just a couple of minutes. After waiting for over an hour and not hearing any updates I again stood in line at the front desk to be told our room was still not ready. We proceeded to the buffet as none of us had eaten a substantial meal the entire day of travel. Needless to say the buffet was closed and did not open again until 6:30pm. The only available dining option after 3:00pm until the buffet opens again at 6:30pm is the sports bar or the pool cafes. Frustrated we proceeded to the pool to find there were no pool towels available as they were all either loaned out or in laundry. Needless to say the rest of the experience didn’t get any better. Very disappointed as this was our 3rd stay at a RIU. Granted it was Spring Break time of year, but I would also expect the resort to plan for this as well. I certainly did not get a discount for the limited or omitted services.

The hotel itself was nice but the beach was horrible. Its big sharp rocks everywhere and you can not walk with out stepping on them even if you have swim shoes it’s still a bit dangerous

The property was dirty compared to other RIU hotels. We have been to a total of three in Jamaica. The beach was not cleaned and trash, was under chairs,etc. The staff was courteous and always willing to help. The shows were fantastic. The food was average and not replenished even with a few hours to go with the meal.

This was a great hotel, the food was amazing, staff was great, it was clean, and fun!! Entertainment staff was very attentive and friendly!! Rooster and Orlando were very nice and made our staff feel welcoming! We had so much fun and the view is unbelievable! Thank you to the bartenders especially Chave at the pool bar!! This hotel gets really packed but it is definitely worth the stay!!

The property is beautiful, practically brand new! The grounds are impeccably maintained and the staff is wonderful. The bartenders are very friendly and the entertainment is well above average. We were upgraded to an oceanfront suite, which was amazing. The only negative thing I would say is that it’s difficult to get a reservation for dinner. We aren’t buffet people (at least not for dinner) and had to eat at the buffet 2 out of 4 nights. That being said, the buffet food was way, way above average. I would absolute recommend this resort.

Wife and I had a great time at Riu Aquarelle. We got the swim up ocean view room which are the swim up rooms on the 2nd floor. These are the better swim up rooms compared to those that are on the ground floor. More privacy and a lot more sun. Ever since we started staying in swim up rooms or private pool rooms, you can’t go back to regular rooms anymore. Most Caribbean resort pools close early evenings but if have your own, you can take a plunge anytime you want. This Riu is less than a year old so the facilities are still impressive new. No muggy wet smell in the rooms yet. Beach was nice and well maintained. There are practically no seaweeds which is normally an issue in a few Caribbean islands. Only reason my rating is not 5 stars is because of the specialty restaurants. Only food I liked among the 4 specialty restaurants is the grilled octopus at Krystal. Food at the buffet was better. They have curry goat, clams, peking duck among others. The jerk chicken at the pool side grill is the best. Make sure you stop by it before it opens at 12 noon as the line gets ridiculously long quick. For coffee lovers, coffee bar at the lobby makes good iced coffee. One other thing, restaurant reservations are made through the app which is not bad. But, you have to make sure you check early because they run out quickly.
