I recently stayed at the Riu Aquarelle with family and friends. Here is the feedback I got from everyone:
Pros:
Staff members are super helpful and friendly. They made us feel like home. Special shout out to Adrian and Latoya, these two individuals made us feel like royalty. The entertainment staff are AMAZING! We had Las Vegas Shows every night. The hotel is well kept and clean.
Cons:
The staff neglected to clean our room properly EVERY SINGLE DAY! Dirty towels were left on the floor, dirty wash cloths were left hanging in the shower, our toilet was not cleaned properly. We were VERY dissatisfied with our room cleaner.
If you are looking for a true Jamaican experience, this is not the hotel to go to. There is no Jamaican music throughout the hotel. During the day the pool music is nonexistent. Music comes on somewhere around 3pm and even then, it felt like we were begging for music. We would have loved to have listen to Jamaican music the entire time we were there. There should be soft Jamaican music playing through the halls for patron enjoyment. There is absolutely NO NIGHT LIFE, so after the show, there are no clubs, no party life. The food is not great. The Jamaican dishes are limited and too spicy for non spicy eaters. Overall the food, tasted like mass produced food. Even the burgers were horrible. There is a hut on the side of the pool where you can get Jerk chicken and festival...That's pretty much the only thing I enjoyed. Steak house - NO Good!
