I rented two rooms. Room #1 the lamps and outlet were broken and tub wouldn’t drain. Room #2 had no AC. We had some last minute issues and didn’t check out until right at checkout, 11 am, but our keys stopped working at 10:30 am, which caused more issues with getting out in time. Friendly staff.

The room was small. It was clean. Bed was comfortable. Old worn furniture. The covering on the walkway was worn and tore up in a lot of places. Could create a trip hazard. The breakfast was only fair. The hotel is very old. Ok go one night. Very expensive for this level hotel.

The outside pavilion and sitting area was as shown in Expedia. The room was ok. The beds were comfortable. The television remote had to be changed as batteries were dead. TV was hard to watch as it kept buffering. The indoor outdoor carpet on the walkway to the room was torn and a safety issue. There was no elevator to the 2nd floor and would be difficult for older people or people with knee issues. Breakfast was not good. We didn't eat there the 2nd day. Location was good to downtown. Enjoyed the deer and elk passing through.

The carpet outside the upper rooms was torn in spots and is a safety trip hazard. Bathroom door was hard to open and close it was dragging on the floor. Pool was cold not heated and needed some cleaning. Hot tub is not working and is a mess should be replaced or just removed. Wanted to check in a little early but there was a sign on the door that the office was closed no early check-in today come back at 4 pm. What's up with that ? Then when we got to our room the key cards did not work. Then the day before we were supposed to checkout the key cards stopped working again. Then about an hour before our normal checkout time the cards stopped working again. Good thing we didn't need the washer or dryer both of them had signs they were out of order. During check-in we were told that we would get a copy of our receipt in an email it never came through. So I asked for a printed copy and they said they couldn't print them. Ending on a good note the Breakfast selections are very good and very tasty.

We were put in a room that was falling apart. Must have been a water leak in the ceiling cause it was all spackled up and the ceiling trim was ripped off with nails showing on 3 different sides. Paint spackled on walls and door and ‘well worn’ furniture. That being said, other rooms of people we traveled with were just perfect and decorated well. The only thing I can say is, it was clean-ish. Perfect shower, toilet, sink and linens. The ‘ish’ part was the faux wood flooring. I spilled water and wiped it up and the towel was black. I was quite disappointed and would have left had I not prepaid and traveling with others.

Meh …

Bed was comfy .. but the rooms could use some deep cleaning. Beds moved slightly with the kids, and they were pretty gross underneath. Made the room feel a little dirty. Shower curtain was moldy at the bottom. When I checked in the guy mentioned “luxury” and I was far from luxury! I’d stay again, just don’t expect AMAZING! I definitely overpaid for my 1 night stay.

The service was terrible. We arrived and they said the pool was broken and it JUST broke yesterday, but asked someone else staying and they said it was broken longer. The pool is a major factor of booking. When I asked about it at the front door, the guy said i can just cancel your booking and you can find somewhere else. Yeah, let me find a hotel for 8 people last minute at rocky mountain national park. The maid came in my mother in laws room and took the tip, but didnt clean besides the trash. Wild. Also, washer and dryer were broken and they ran out of a lot of the breakfast food by 8 am. The rooms appear clean and updated until you go into the bathroom. Run down.

This was a great place for a weekend stay in Estes! Old Colorado feel, very clean. Breakfast wasn’t bad - just not a ton of choices. The only thing I’ll say that could be improved is the rooms need some updates, but are all very clean.

Do not stay here! It is nothing like the pictures. Our room lock was broken, the door jam was broken, there was a spider in the bathtub, cobwebs in a hole under the sink, the room stunk. We walked in, never even brought our luggage in and went back to the front office for a refund on our stay. There is no way we were going to stay in this place. I don’t know how it got wonderful reviews and the pictures are definitely not current pictures because it is nothing like it looked online.

Upon check in , the front desk guy was not welcoming as one would expect in such a lovely location. Not one smile or “welcome to Blue Door Inn” , Apparently this is his baseline as every encounter with him (owner or mgr ?) was the same. Maybe he needs a vacation or a hug.
