Quiet residential area adjoining the center of the charming, typical & commercial village of Epinac (many amenities on site), a major mining town from the end of the 19th century (industrial site for the production of glass & coal) associated with one of the oldest railway lines in France (of which the station still exists). Now a "Green Station" (a benchmark ecotourism label for nature destinations), the town boasts a rich industrial heritage (a dedicated museum, the "Circuit des gueules noires" (Black Mouth Circuit) leading to the 10 largest old wells, numerous remains including the unmissable, perfectly preserved Hottinguer Well), a multi-activity leisure center, a landscaped fishing pond (with picnic areas by the water), numerous marked hiking trails (green walks), including a "nature trail" with a botanical path to discover the local flora and fauna, and enjoys a magnificent, unspoiled landscaped setting of gentle mountains alternating with lush greenery, rolling countryside, and vast wild forests. In the heart of the Autunois, a magnificent preserved territory, steeped in history, traditions, legends & mysteries, rich in an exceptional heritage (ancient, medieval, industrial...) & absolutely magnificent landscapes (gentle rolling mountains combining hedged farmland, green valleys, rivers and deep wild forests), dotted with numerous referenced hiking trails, to be explored on foot or by mountain bike. Privileged location on the very route of the greenway (connected to EuroVélos6), at the start of several marked hiking trails as "green walks" (heritage and nature discoveries), not far from the circuit of Romanesque churches, 10 km from the GR137/GR7, around ten km from the first vineyards of the famous Côtes de Beaune (& the "Route des Grands Crus") & around fifteen km from Couchois (Côtes Chalonnaises & "Route des Grands Vins"), 21 km from a mountain bike circuit connected to the legendary GTMC & 18 km from the Canal du Centre (the "Canal tranquille").
