Great hotel, beware of the ongoing construction!

The hotel is located close to the train station and the area is very walkable. Rooms are in excellent condition, beds are very comfortable and the hotel has a great bar/restaurant. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because there is ongoing construction facing the hotel making it impossible to sleep longer than 8 and to stay in the room during the day. That’s not what I expected for the price I paid.

My husband and I needed a nice place to stay near the main train station in Zurich. We were spending one night in Zurich before leaving by airplane the next morning. The Central Plaza Hotel is just an easy10 minute walk from the train station. It is a historic hotel with completely updated, modern interiors and located on the edge of the olde town area of Zurich. Our room was small but immaculately clean. We easily walked to riverside cafes and there is a good assortment of nice restaurants in the olde town area. We enjoyed live music in the Central Plaza Hotel lounge in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. We were very happy with our stay and would stay there again if we were in the area.
