"A River Runs Through It" - a spectacular 6 bedroom property that sleeps up to 12 guests located in the foothills of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Get ready for the most unique setting watching the water run directly under the house!

The home is situated in a private setting and is built over a scenic mountain stream (Think of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater House on a smaller scale). Constructed in 1960, this property holds a lot of historic value, from the 100 year old water wheel which greets you as you pull up the driveway to the walls and ceilings built with wood from old buildings being torn down in the mid 1900's (black walnut, cherry, ash, and cedar).

A list of the amenities and bedroom configurations are as follows:

* 1st Family room features leather couches, a fireplace, and 50" TV (off kitchen area). The ceilings are made of red cedar and the walls are a mix of cherry, black walnut, ash and cedar.
* 2nd Family room is located over the creek and features a gas fireplace, leather couches, sliding glass doors leading onto a viewing deck and a rear deck, pool table, and a 65" TV
* Spacious, gourmet kitchen with slab granite counters, hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances
* Kitchen breakfast bar area seats up to 4 and designer round teak dining table seats up to 8 guests
* Screened porch with patio furnishings
* 6 person hot tub that overlooks creek and is in a covered area with a table and chairs

Our group had a great weekend stay at A River Runs Through It. The property is very unique, you won't find another like it in the area. The whole house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some great meals, and the grill worked well. The property is interesting to explore and walk around on the creek rocks, and it's private enough that we were not disturbed by neighbors or passersby. It's very pleasant and peaceful to relax on the deck with the water rushing below. The hosts were very accommodating and communicative, and while we didn't need anything from them during our stay, I know we could've reached out if we encountered any issues. I definitely hope to come back again. Thanks for having us!

We had a great time staying here. The house has such beautiful character. The kids played in the creek. We enjoyed having two living rooms for our large group. The hosts were very easy to get in touch with. You do want to connect to the WiFi once you get on the property because of the lack of cell service. Once we did that. It was easy to call and text. We could have sat in the back porch over the creek for hours. It was such a great place to spend quality time together.

Beautiful property

Pros-The property was beautiful and the house was spacious and clean. The hot tub was a big hit and everyone enjoyed wading in the river. The kitchen had everything we needed for the multiple meals we prepared. The beds were comfortable and the view was beautiful and peaceful. We also enjoyed the fire pit one night. Be sure to grab some firewood from Ingles or somewhere though as none is provided.Cons- the house is quite old and feels a bit fragile. The owner seems to have had bad experiences with past guests and it shows in the communication. I felt more caution and fear of messing something up than welcome. I understand the needed warnings, but something positive in the process would’ve made me feel more welcome. Also, just to reiterate what others have said- there is zero cell service- so you have to make phone calls through FaceTime audio if you can and be sure to have your destination plugged in before you step out of the house. The WiFi is even pretty bad- like just one or two devices can successfully work at a time, which was a little tough for a larger group like ours. Not a huge jssue though because that wasn’t what we were here for. There is a home phone for local calls however, which was definitely helpful.Overall, I would stay here again because it’s a wonderful, comfortable space and within 25-40 min we hiked several waterfalls, visited Apple markets and the charming towns for Ellijay and Blue Ridge.

Absolutely Lovely!

A perfect gem that has lovely scenery, great large layout and very clean. Lots of wineries nearby. The views from the back deck-porch could not be more calming. Sitting by the water was divine. Will be back for sure.

Trout camp house

Took my son and friends for a quick get away. We were looking for nature, fishing and relaxing and that’s just what we had. Try to get there before dark if possible. Stayed 3 nights. Full day on property and full day exploring Ellajay and Blue Ridge. Cooked most meals there and late lunch in Ellajay one day. Teens loved the hot tub and exploring through the creek. Fishing and stream tromping.. we hope to stay again.

Family Fun

We had everything we needed. There were plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds, a pool table, spacious living areas and gorgeous views from the back and front of house. Outside there was a swing, hot tub, firepit, water to play in and rocks to climb on for fun. We will never forget the fun we had at this beautiful and amazing house.

4th of July Family Fun

This was our second visit to “A River Runs Through It”. This place is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy fishing in the creek on property. Our kids loved tubing right in front of the house. The peaceful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and outdoor activities. The property was immaculately clean and incredibly spacious, offering plenty of room for our group to spread out and feel comfortable. The hosts clearly take great care in maintaining the place, ensuring that every detail contributes to a wonderful stay. We had a great time tubing at Cartecay River Experience about 15 minutes from the house. Quick trips to downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge were lots of fun. We can’t wait to come back again!!! Highly recommended!

The house and property are one of a kind. When you turn the corner and head up the drive you are just blown away. The kids loved floating and playing in the creek. The fireflies provided a nightly show that blended from high in the trees to the beautiful stars in the sky. Accurately described and owners have great communication. The house seemed to have everything we needed. Perfect location.
