Buckle up, there's a lot to unload. We needed to move out of our home for 2 weeks because of restoration work being done. This listing was close by and on the boys school bus route so that was one less thing to worry about. Shopping and grocery stores are also close.
First off I had to contact the host on the day of check-in because I still hadn't received the check-in instructions.
The listing didn't make clear that it was a basement suite and it also mentioned a hot-tub; there is no hot-tub on site. Upon checking-in the suite smelled of stale cigarette smoke, the floors were visibly dusty/dirty, and the kitchen had crumbs by the stove. The coffee pot also was stained. I went back home while I could still get in the house and brought back my coffee pot a few other missing things and a vacuum so I could clean the floors. The suite did have a broom & dust pan. I put the old coffee pot in the cupboard, when I brought it back out at the end of our stay, I noticed an old very moldy coffee filter still in the basket; gross!
Half way through our stay, new guests moved into the upstairs portion of the house. They were so noisy & rude! One night they were noisy from 10 pm to 5 am and after letting the host know, they still decided to be noisy the next night from 10 pm to 2 am. There were other times as well but my complaints fell on deaf ears and nothing was done about it.
I have let the host know about the issues and hopefully they get fixed before the next guests move in.
