The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. There are bus stops located in the same block as the property to take you wherever you need the go. Highly recommend staying here.

Staff were friendly, helpful. Bus very handy. Would definitely recommend for anyone who doesn’t need to be in town. Would have been helpful to know there aren’t any restaurants or pubs in close proximity. A list of those nearby with walking or commuting times would have been helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 4 Friends. Thank you.

Great stay!! I arrived early but was able to drop off my luggage. Lukas met me at reception and was very kind and clear with instructions. Beautiful room, no issues whatsoever. The room faced a relatively busy street but I didn't find it noisy at all. Although there is no on-site breakfast, they are kind enough to provide a kitchen area with some basics like bread, cereal and fruit for anyone who wants along with some discount coupons for nearby cafes. Also it's right by a bus stop so easy to get around. Will definitely stay here again if I am back. Thanks!! -Zac

An absolute gem of a guest house

My room and bed was very comfortable. There is also a reception room with lots of lovely touches, such as breakfast items, toaster, microwave and various books and games.

What an amazing stay. Sylvia and Lukas were so wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was relaxing and enjoyable. As a solo traveller it’s always a concern finding safe comfortable accomodation. 4 friends delivered beyond expectation. Room was gorgeous. Bed super comfy. Highly recommend this wonderful guest house. Convenient location with buses at doorstep.

Too far from city center

Too far from city center. We booked two nights, but left after one. The cost of the Uber ride one way was $17.81 to city center. Closest restaurant a 16 minute walk.

Good price for Edinburgh hotel

This hotel was very reasonably priced for expensive Edinburgh. 20 mins by bus to the train station. Walking distance to the Royal Yacht. The staff were very friendly. No included breakfast, but they were a few complimentary breakfast items in the lobby, which we made use of. The room was very clean.

We stayed here on our 1st trip to Scotland and could not have had a better place to stay in Edinburgh. The owners were so helpful and knowledgeable. They helped us with bus & train schedules, keeping our luggage after checkout, and even finding our lost cell phone! The room was clean & comfy! Would definitely stay here again!
