We arrived at 2:40 and found we had to check in with bar staff at the busy downstairs bar. It was very loud and we were told “check in is at 3, you have to wait”. We stood on the sidewalk outside and, magically, at 3 we could check in - usually someone will check if the room is ready when you arrive a little early but that courtesy was not extended to us. There is no parking except metered parking on a busy street so you have to constantly plug a metre at $2/hour. Free parking is about 4 blocks away up a very street hill if you can find it. The room was very hot but there is a working old loud air conditioner. The room is tired and ugly with a shower that my husband barely fit in. The ceiling light is poor and on a pull switch so you have to get out of bed to turn the light off and on. One bedside lamp that we had to move for the person who chose to read. The hair dryer fell out of the wall when I tried to use it. Location of the hotel is central but not at all suitable for mobility challenged people. I would not recommend. Very expensive comparable to what you expect for that price.

The property isn't welcoming to pets. Room appeared very clean with comforts of TV snd coffee machine. The check in was awkward-we had to walk through a restaurant with people eating lugging suitcases through the restaurant. We stood at the door for seeveral minutes holdiing bags not knowing where to go and eventually called out to staff. We tried asking restaurant customers but they said this is the Grand Banker which was true, but apparently also where you check in. Unfortunately there was a loud concert outside, abd I mean loud. I had ny 6 year old son with me so luckiky he slept anyways, but I drowned it out with lullaby music. If you dont mind the check in or music its a cute spot, and wonderfully close to the waterfront and so many restaurants.

centrally located, good price. To check in you go to the restaurant, which is a decent place to eat and drink. Lighting in the room was pretty abrasive and it was cold. But it was a terrific location and the price was right.

Quaint, unique, convenient

Best location and view of the basin. A bit dated, carpet needs replacing. Bed a bit dated also. Quaint and unique but that’s old town Lunenburg.

Lunenberg is lovely. Our hotel unit was very odd…

The Brigatine Hotel is a vintage building close to the bay in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia. It has a small restaurant and many rooms. Unfortunately, we had a room in what was called “The Annex”. Our room was not in the Brigatine Hotel at all! It was across the street in a smaller, house. We are in our mid 70s. We had to lug our heavy luggage up a stairway entrance, with very loose and rotting railings. Once in the house, we had to drag the luggage up a winding, narrow stairway to the second floor. The upper floor had two nice bedrooms with TVs and a sitting room with a partial kitchen and a bathroom down the hall from the bedrooms. The upper floor could not be closed off, since it all was open to the entry door on the main floor, which had two locked doors to a first floor unit. We hated not being able to lock our unit upstairs. The tub didn’t drain right and the it filled as we showered. There was bottles of conditioner, but no shampoo. The room keys were in a sleeve and the internet info on the keys did not work. In the morning, we found a card in the sitting room, letting us know that the internet for the Annex was not the same as the hotel. We had no time to use internet for our next day plans. The person who checked us in was waiting tables and quickly checked us in and pointed to the house across the street and had us figure it out ourselves. We paid almost $300 for this unit. We could have done much better with all the cute hotels in town.

It’s time to replace or remove the carpets. The stains leading up and into the room are a complete turn-off. It’s time to renovate…I did t even want to be barefoot in the room.

Charming is the location above a pub, like a traditional British public house. The view of the harbor is great; there's a wingback chair in front of a bay window. The room is called the Bluenose and has a scale replica of the famous ship which you can see from the window. We were within walking distance of everything. Parking is a real problem in high season. The matress is old and needs to be replaced.

This inn is a very dated waterfront property. Entrance is right off the street but there is no front desk; signs point you to check in downstairs at the pub. She gave us our room keys and that was the last we saw of staff. Entrance into the inn doesn’t appear to be secure? Staff didn’t explain if the main door would be locked after hours, how to get in, or how to contact anyone in an emergency, but fortunately it wasn’t required. Windows don’t open to allow fresh air but we did book a balcony; which is directly visible from the restaurant/pub next door. Shower was a stand-up shower (not a tub). The beds were sooooo saggy and the pillows so lousy. There wasn’t a bedside lamp so no reading in bed for me. Housekeeping did refresh the towels and soap but didn’t make the beds? I dunno what I expected but something a bit more quaint, cozy and updated would have been a real plus. It was clean, and we had a nice view of the Bluenose II and harbour but the dock lights shine right into the room. Boo.

We were so happy that we switched our original hotel to here at Brigatine. It is the best spot to be and was so central to enjoying the harbor area! Food at the adjacent restaurants was also top notch!! We were sad to go. While parking is not provided, it was easy enough to find street parking

The location was great. Our room was located on the third floor above a restaurant. It was quiet and simple, just what we needed. It was just a few steps to restaurants and all there is to see in Lunenburg.
