Brilliant find.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Child friendly, quiet hotel. Great breakfast with lots of choice and good quality. Rooms were clean and very practical for a family with one double bed and one sofa bed. Great location, two mins drive from park and ride which is an 8 mins bus ride into the centre of York. Hotel also 2 min drive to big shopping complex including Hollywood bowl and an Asda.

Staff were lovely and friendly however, room very noisy, you could hear everything next door and in the corridor. TV - only a few channels, no BBC1 or ITV1! by the time i found this out it was too late

Always wonderful reception

Every time I stay at this IHG on the outskirts of York I am greeted with warmth, professionalism and kindness. Amber was on reception, she was very professional and check in was effortless and quick. She also helped me out with a couple of queries. Breakfast was wonderful as usual, really nice staff, full of smiles & helpfulness.

There is no designated parking. The hotel is dated and not cleaned to an appropriate standard. When entering our room there was a damp musty smell which we highlighted to the staff member on duty. There was no offer of a new room. After returning from a drive and removing our shoes, we discovered that the area of carpet directly in front of the bathroom was soaked, as though it had been flooded, or there was an underlying leak from the bathroom in our or, or the one next door. We brought the manager to the room to show her, where she provided some towels for the floor, this did not alleviate the smell. By this time we were informed there were no other rooms available, it was an unpleasant night. This room was not up to standard and should not have been occupied by anyone until the problem was solved. Hopefully the management will see it fit to refund the fee we were charged.

The staff were pleasant and friendly. The room not so good, the bed was a small double and the mattress dipped in the middle so not very comfortable. The toilet seat was loose and foul smells came up through the waste outlet when the wash basin was emptied and gurgling noise from the shower waste. The bathroom door would not stay closed as the latch was missing. There was a white stain on the side of the bed base and the same on the sofa ( like a dog had slobbered over it; although there was no smell of dog in the room). The breakfast was buffet style.
