The Quail House near Fall Creek Falls State Park

The Quail House is a newly renovated 1970’s A-Frame cabin on the Cumberland Plateau near Fall Creek Falls State Park. Our cozy cabin has one bedroom with a queen bed and 1.5 bathrooms. The space is decorated with every detail in mind giving you a modern feel while keeping the vintage charm. Enjoy downtown Dunlap and all that the area has to offer. The area is filled with shopping, restaurants, hang gliding, hiking, waterfalls, multiple state parks, kayaking, fishing and more!

This beautiful a-frame cabin is 15 minutes from downtown Dunlap, 30 minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park and 55 minutes from Chattanooga. The house is surrounded with many of different places and activities including waterfalls, hiking, shopping, hang gliding and many more! With all the things this area has to offer it makes it the perfect mountain getaway.

The Quail House is an A-Frame cabin with an upstairs loft, which has a queen bed. The loft also has a half bath and a record player with hand picked records straight from our personal collection for your enjoyment.

The living room has a flat screen smart tv with Netflix or any other streaming service that you may have. The house does have wifi and a desk space making it a perfect spot to catch up on some work if needed! We also have tons of board games and books to keep you entertained during your stay.

There is a full kitchen with a 4 person dining area. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, Keurig, olive oil, salt and pepper. It also has a full dish set, pots, pans and all of the essential utensils. The kitchen leads to a large back deck with patio chairs for relaxing.

If you are looking for any particular thing to do during your stay I would love to provide you with recommendations for things to do and adventures to enjoy.

Some other things to keep in mind:

-We are located in a some what rural area where you might not have any cell reception. We recommend stepping on the front or back porch to get service if needed. We do provide wifi though!

- Our driveway is at a downward slant and has fresh gravel. If you decided to pull in please pull out slow so you do not get stuck. If you do not feel comfortable pulling in, there is plenty of room to park at the top of the driveway.

-The stairs leading to the bedroom are not normal stairs. It is not a ladder but are steeper than your average stair case. We have included multiple photos of the stairs in the listing.

Check in was easy and the cabin was nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the back covered porch, it was great for meditating. We didn’t cook anything but there seemed to be enough essentials including a few basic spices to cook, if we wanted to.

Immaculate Little Abode

My husband and I spent 2 nights here while exploring waterfalls nearby. This A-Frame was the PERFECT place to come back to every evening. Loved the layout, the furnishings, the back porch, just everything!

Quail house

We had an amazing time. Location is central to many places we wanted to visit. Cabin is very comfortable and adorable. Owners were responsive to the one issue we had when the door lock battery died. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing comfortable stay.

This cabin is perfect!

If I ever have the chance to stay in this area, this will be where I'm hanging my hat. Quiet/Cozy area. Just enough touch of home that you're don't feel like you're renting a cabin in the woods :). Then you step outside, and see that you are staying at a cabin. In the woods! :) Thank you guys, for accommodating us again!!

Super Relaxing

Was perfect. The details just work. Its a cabin. Just as described. I liked the ladder to the loft. Pro-tip. Carry the fan light switch up into the loft so you can see the steps better if getting up early in am for work and its dark. Its handy. Also, remember to carry your clothes downstairs from the closet. I came back to home state with batteries recharged! I could almost live up there. Quite cozy.

Cool little Cabin

Owner/manager was great, they were flexible and communicated great. Cabin was very nice & clean. Back porch was perfect when the weather is right. Bed slept great. There isn't a view from the cabin, but you don't have to drive far for that. 10-12min drive down the mountain to Dunlap. Nice little town, had a Cajun food truck I highly recommend. Brewery was meh, but nice inside.

Amazing get away.

My husband and I were looking for a quite cozy getaway for our 18th wedding anniversary. Let me just say we stumbled upon the amazing A-frame cabin away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hosts provided a lot of extra personal touches. And the smallest touches proved to be so appreciated and enjoyable. But we also went into town and enjoyed some really good breakfast at the Dunlap restaurant. Highly recommend to eat there. We also ran into an old friend Carson Camp. He is a huge part of the Coke Ovens museum there in town and grounds. He and his wife invited us to meet them there to see it, even though they are closed during the week. It's an awesome part of the towns history. We loved it. We will definitely be returning to stay at the Quail House again.

Perfect Getaway

The Quail House is a beautiful A Frame that is exceptionally clean, quiet and peaceful. Was the perfect size for our needed getaway. Everything was as described. The location was perfect for us to make trips to Fall Creek Falls (35 min), Savage Gulf (15 mins), and the Sequatchie Valley (15 mins). Enjoyed sitting on the back deck drinking coffee in the mornings, relaxing in afternoon after hiking Fall Creek Falls and the quietness of the evening. Communication with the host was quick and easy. Will definitely look to visit again.

Perfect solo retreat!

The Quail House was everything I could’ve hoped for and more! Peaceful, clean, private, and charming are just a few adjectives that come to mind to describe my stay in Gage and Aly’s A-frame oasis. It truly felt like a home away from home. 10/10 would recommend!
