The only complaint I have is that in the morning I had not hot water. To be fair there is a notice that hot water is on demand and may take 5 min to warm up. I waited 25 min with the shower on full blast hot and never got anything but cold. This was at 6:30 am and I don’t think there was a huge rush on hot water. That said the staff of the motel and restaurant were very kind and accommodating and I’m sure if I had told them about it they would have done something.

What we needed

We stayed in room 4. It was everything we needed - a clean room, nice beds, and our own bathroom. The only thing is I am a big woman and the bathroom was tight to get around in - for a normal sized person it would be fine. We did have dinner in the restaurant - great tasting food!!

We had an amazing dinner followed by a really cool stay in one of the sheds! It's a great place to stay, and I definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Kings Canyon or Sequoia NP to stay here!

Budget friendly, close to Kings Canyon/Sequoia NPs

While we needed up enjoying our stay, I was surprised to find out it was a mini cabin in a converted shed with shared bathrooms/showers (for 6 cabins). It was not listed on Hotels.com, though I guess it was in the confirmation email the Inn sent me. It needed up being fine, all part of the experience and price was very affordable. Bed was comfy, shower was hot with a rain head, outer and inner locks on bathrooms/showers. The restaurant on site had great food, good local beer selection and friendly staff. A great place to sleep when visiting Kings Canyon and/or Sequoia NPs as it is very close to both.

Sad I used to love this place till it became unsaf

This is my second time coming here I love the atmosphere and area but the owners just let their dogs run around and have no recall which ruins the atmosphere for me and my dog. They ran up to my dog (who’s on leash so that escalates tension) 2 on 1 which is entirely scary for my dog and I. Insisting “they’re friendly” doesn’t matter in dog language it’s disrespectful and intimidating. so we’re both rattled and ruined our whole stay the owner was very rude about it trying to blame me for removing my dog from the situation when she had zero control over both dogs. Caused a lot of anxiety and shakiness:( Upsetting won’t be coming back now.

A 'Chalet' Diamond in the Rough

I have stayed in really bad places. This is not one of them, but could have been much, much better. It is a contractors trailer converted to a 'Chalet'. Kinda. If you look at the pictures online, they are NOT what you are getting. We stayed there June 4, 2025. You would think this is a wonderful place right next to a flowing stream (from the pictures). It is only June, and it is bone dry and dusty. There is a dirt/gravel drive down to the Chalet -- short but steep. But you wanted to be 'away', right? The pictures do not show the huge black water tank. Nor do they show the 'every 5 minutes' running water pump. Ok, lets go inside. You do not get the large kitchen shown in the pictures, you get a very small microwave, small refrig, dishes, table and coffee maker. (they are not shown in the picture). There is NO storage for clothes, in fact that small stand in the pics is no longer there. In its place on the wall is a gas heater (good thing the weather was warm, because even tho there are signs 'do not unplug', it was unplugged). If you like really hard beds you are in luck, because the bed is HARD. The bathroom is ok --- there is even a soap dispenser there (that is labeled 'for dishes'). The shower is nice, but the hot water continues to go very hot then cold then hot. The TV did not work (a battery missing from the Roku remote). The 'patio' consists of two slightly dusty chairs and a glass table, and the BBQ has no propane tank. It is a little 'rough'....
