The hotel was very noisy throughout the night and every night. The hotel would definitely benefit from soundproofing. Could here every conversation outside
This is my first time writing reviews on hotel. But if I could give this hotel zero rating I will. My husband and I recently visited Ireland. We book the hotel despite of the low rating. We book 1bed room nonsmoking. We came back from our tour to check in. There was a gentleman man in front of us. Although he did warned us that he is leaving because of the unbearable noise in his room. We simply say to him “Im sure we will be fine, but good luck”. We got in to the room. And we are so shocked about the noise. The hallways smells like mildew and Smoke. Our Room smells like a straight up ashtray. I do have A severe asthma and I could not stand the smell and smoke coming out of the bar literally right next to us. At one point im getting tachycardia and feeling getting tired due to my heart beating fast. We feel nauseous and started to get a headache. Never in my life experienced stuff like this and to pay $185 to only feel we couldn’t breathe and feel suffocated and the need settle to the noise (God knows how long it will last) My husband and I are both nurses and one thing we both like to do on our days off is to travel. We’ve been through hundreds of hotels but this is by far the worst we stayed at.All we need is a place to crashed out and sleep. We experience the opposite. We contacted Expedia. And alerted the Front desk that we have to leave and cancel the room.It was already 1:30 am.We are tired at that point, but we couldn’t stay any longer in that room. Overall bad experience

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness
Room dusty with the last occupiers rubbish still in the wardrobe
Smell of cannabis throughout the building
We asked for a quiet room so we’re on the 3rd floor ( this is an old hotel so under stable)
The room was quiet and clean. For a hotel that is central it is affordable and clean.

Ok, but wouldn’t hurry back.
Seedy access up stairs above night club.
Seedy reception, but great advice from the receptionist on places to go in Dublin.
The room was very comfortable and clean.

Much Older then the pictures look and room advertised during booking process was not the room we were given so that was frustrating and annoying.

Very noisy - directly above nightclub
Cheap and cheerful hotel was what I expected for the money, so only complaint was that the room was literally shaking until 2am from the loud music coming from underneath
Great value for the price. Right in the centre of the city for a budget break it’s great! There is stairs to check in, very basic area. The rooms are a lot more luxurious than we were expecting and nice big windows & tv and the bed is so comfortable, clean hotel standards. Staff are pleasant and then there’s a pub restaurant attached so if you want food from the hotel as such you would go there. No room service. You ring a bell for them to open the door too, day & night, so good security.
terrible- i couldnt travel due to storm-rang hotel-they said they would cancel. I booked through hotels.com-disaster!!!! the hotel offered credit note-but due to weather all phone lines were down- hotels.com never offered me credit note- the next day when the electricity returned-hotels.com and the gate hotel both said it was too late-they stole me money!! said i didnt respond- even thought the offer for credit note never reached me!! stole my money
Very nice area in terms of getting to places. However our main issue with the stay was that we weren’t allowed to bring any tarts back to the room. I’d be more understanding if we warned before however we only found out when we were trying to bring two jezzys to the room. I’d definitely stay again when I return in the future.
The was ok. I didn’t spend much time in the hotel and primarily used it just to sleep. There a bit of a smell to the hotel but I assume that it was just because it’s a very old building. There was also no step free access so if you have mobility issues or a lot of heavy luggage I wouldn’t recommend. If your planning short stay and don’t mind a lot of stairs then this might work for you.
First the staff is super friendly and helpful. The place is an old fashion hotel of 50 years ago (building is about 200 years old). Rooms are efficient and have plenty of tea/Coffee available. Though no breakfast is served, but a place nearby serves breakfast. Close to the center of town.
The street is rather unsafe with dopers around. We had one that annoyed us following us around.
