It goes without saying that the Ibis One Central is very well located - and I'll start with additional positives - that the staff is friendly and try to be accommodating, and the breakfast was good and good value. BUT - the rooms are getting old, the shower tray and sink would not drain, the kettle leaked, there was nowhere to put a suitcase when using it aside from the bed, there are no modern power facilities in reach of the bed, the TV is tiny etc. One other peeve - you can use the swimming pool at the Novotel (5 mins walk) but you can only use the gym in the Ibis - so if you want to workout and swim in one session you're out of luck. Overall I feel this hotel was at least double the price of its value on the nights that there was a conference at the World Trade Center and 150% the other nights. Relatively simple fixes to bring it back up to par but I think it's probably busy enough not to have to bother. I'll be going elsewhere whenever possible though.

The room was smelling bad. I am not sure if they are cleaning the room well. I had my reservation with breakfast included but they said it is not included in their system. I have checked my reservation again. I talked to them and I said it has to be breakfast icluded again. They said they will double check and inform me. Noone informed me even though I asked them.

This is a luxury 3 star hotel. Breakfast per person was about $19-20 if purchased at reception. Rooms are small. Upscale area with access to metro and 10 mins drive to airport. Food in the area is a bit expensive since it is at World Trade Center.

I’ve regularly chosen ibis One Central for my GITEX visits, relying on its consistency and convenience. Regrettably, this year’s stay was the most disappointing I’ve experienced. From the outset, the hotel appeared overwhelmed and poorly managed. A long queue at check-in signalled trouble, and things only worsened. Maintenance work—loud and disruptive—persisted from the afternoon until nearly midnight (11:45 p.m.). I enquired at the front desk at 6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and again at 9:30 p.m., only to be told each time that the work was “almost done.” No resolution, no transparency. To make matters worse, one staff member responded with visible disdain, rolling her eyes as though I were being unreasonable for raising concerns. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, particularly during a major international event. It’s disheartening to see a trusted brand falter when consistency matters most. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and implements meaningful improvements ahead of next year’s exhibition.
