When we checked in we were told we couldn't use the pool or spa until 7am - 9am but when I looked at the info in the room that was when children could use it , we were 2 adults with no kids! plus no idea why we weren't allowed to use the pool the day we checked in. in our room there was a glass of water on the night stand , I dismissed it as just a simple missed item when the room was cleaned. Then the level of noise all night was so bad! no sound proofing at all (we were in the mainland hotel) In the morning I went for a shower and there was no shampoo in the dispenser. I booked this hotel as a Birthday treat for myself and I was so disappointed , I wouldn't have booked if I'd have known we couldn't use the pool and spa. Sadly won't be coming back.

The Area and Venue is lovely… I felt the room (in the main hotel) was dated but just Okay. The WiFi is terrible in any room other than your dining & main reception area. So if you’re wanting to work then this isn’t great. The Breakfast I felt was mediocre. Overpriced for what we got, and not great quality either the bacon, sausage and egg was poor. No black pudding. The setting is lovely but I feel they need to upgrade the place to match its surroundings. The bar service was real slow although at £12 for a glass of wine and £7.60 a pint probably helped the customer out.

We stay for one night ,everything ok Only fan was not strong enough Bed were comfotable but bit small We enjoy breakfast and 2 hours free access to pool ,saunas ,jacuzzi .

Terrible room

Before going to sleep, there was an evident dip in the bed to one side. When I got into bed, it was two singles together, which I know is common for hotels but these mattresses were polar opposites. One was extremely used & dipped in the middle & the other was rock solid. I asked to change rooms & although rooms were free, none were clean. There’s also a smoke detector wit a flashing LED above the bed which lights up the room when in complete darkness. AVOID room 45 at all costs. Issued my concerns at checkout & over email & nobody is interested, only wishing my return which will absolutely not be happening. Aesthetically the hotel & grounds are fantastic but in reality, they are worn, tired & past their best.
