My wife and I travelled to Detroit to see Matt Rife perform. We found the Inn during our online search for accommodation. It lived up to its' reviews as the building(s) are beautiful and full of rich architecture.
The check in experience was very efficient but I believe it was aided by the email the Inn sent ahead of time to 'pre-check-in'. Accessing the room was simple and our entire stay, we never heard any noises from other tenants. There were three rooms on each floor of the house we stayed in so the privacy was an unexpected bonus.
In terms of the bed, it was acceptable however my wife's side had a noticeable dip but that didnt affect our sleep. The chair in the room on the other hand was likely the most comfortable chair ive found at a hotel.
It is conveniently located to Downtown Detroit and i was thoroughly impressed throughout the entire stay.
Breakfast was as expected. It was continental and it offered plenty of variety. Service was great throughout and i strongly endorse staying!

The room was okay. Carpet was stained and the furniture is worn. You can also hear a lot of outside noise so sleeping could be an issue.
Beautiful buildings, well maintained and renovated. Good amenities and breakfast. Good location near the QLine and the institute of art. Friendly welcome.
The room clean and in great condition but to get there required that we haul our luggage up a narrow stairway to the 3rd floor. The staff was not welcoming and did not seem very interested in our welfare. The Ferry Inn was more like an AirBNB than an Inn.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room was nice and it was clean. My door was not secured tightly.
Breakfast was great.
Service was very friendly but they no longer have the concierge van service to the nearby attractions. That's why we like to stay there. The rooms are quiet so that's a plus.
I am allergic to lemongrass and that was the only scent they had for all the soap products. An unscented option would be great for special needs. The bathroom walls were filthy around the sink and there was no extra toilet paper. It was almoat gone when we arrived and the back up was in the closet out in the main room. Last thing i want to do is change toilet paper or not have any in the moment.
Charming historic buildings in a quiet neighborhood. Main lobby common room is a very inviting & comfortable space to relax. Staff was friendly & helpful with information. Delicious breakfast with a variety of offerings. Floors are creaky and walls thin since buildings are old, so can be a bit noisy when other guests are moving around. Great place to stay outside of busy downtown.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We got an upgrade so I can’t complain too hard but the Carriage House needs some love in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. The carpet was stained, the bathroom floor was not clean, the sink was dripping, the frame of the bathroom window was broken and couldn’t be closed all the way, and we found a random lost sock under the bed.
We left food in the fridge to take back the next day and someone on staff are some. The note with the room number was still on the box.
There was a dead smashed bug on the wall.
There was a hair on a "clean" breakfast plate.
The dust in the homes billowed in the sunlight. I'm sure the place is generally sanitized but it hasn't been properly clean in at least a decade.
Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Love the big old houses and their design. Breakfast is simple but always very good. Front desk staff always nice too. Like this place as I e now stayed in 3 of their 4 buildings.
The old buildings are beautiful, and each room is unique. The room was unusually shaped but adequate space for bed, table, TV, bathroom, closet. The common areas left for guests to use are charming and comfortable, stocked with tea, coffee, and water.
