Winter weekend in Davos

We escaped the Zurich fog to enjoy the sun and fresh air up in Davos. The Rixos Fluela Hotel was a great choice. The staff is super friendly and dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. We had a junior suite which was very stylish with 2 balconies. The bathroom was very nice and clean with an awesome tropical shower. The spa, especially the pool, was clearly not up to 5 star standards but was ok as we spent most of the time outside. The hotel facilities in general need an overhaul. However, we enjoyed our stay and will come back some time soon.

Great hotel but minor comments

Great hotel with beautiful, fresh and clean rooms. Unfortunately service was not good enough for the price. We waited a long time before being able to order room service and we were told that we could eat by the pool (which was not the case). But employees were super nice. The spa needs to be more fresh and they should add more chairs. Food was good.

Amazing hospitality, great location

Front office staff was amazing, our 4 year old still speaks fondly of the guys (Mijo, Martin and Marco) who took great care of us during our stay. Rooms were comfortable with quality fittings and amenities. Hotel located right across from Davos Dorf station.

Very impressive hotel

We were there for a ski trip. The hotel is just right next to the train station which takes one minute walk. There are skin resorts near the hotel which is convenient. The spa has different kinds of saunas and outdoor jacuzzi which is very cool! The hotel staffs are very helpful. They kept checking what can they help which makes us felt very welcomed and comfortable.

Great Location, excellent Spa.

Great location opposite train station, excellent bus service from outside the hotel. Parsaan ski lift is just around the corner, cross country ski routes 400m away. Beautiful Spa with outside Jaccuzi and Finnish sauna.

Five star hotel?! No way. Two stars have gone...

Very good location, spatious rooms, cleaning staff doing great work. Understaffed. One nice guy, the rest just being there. Outdated interior mocking to the idea of alpine charm. Ski room was completly forgoten to be renovated in the last 20 years.

19th century elegance in 21st century shape.

Prices in Davos vary a lot according to the ebb and flow of tourism. Watch for a good price, because this is a very top-notch hotel with classical old-world decoration and comfort kept in top-notch shape -- a 19th century styled hotel kept in 21st century shape, with a very gracious and helpful staff. Right next to Parsenne, it's a walk around the corner to the nearest ski destination, and also right across the street from the rail station (but does not suffer any noise from the train). I highly recommend it. The only complaint is that the consistency of the internet connection varies according to which room you are in (I stayed in two different rooms on two legs of my trip).

Amazing romantic hotel in Davos

Couldn't have had a better romantic weekend hotel - recently renovated hotel, champagne at checkin, took care of our ski equipment, great new sauna and hammam, very nice rooms and comfy beds, delicious breakfast.

DISAPPOINTING.

I had booked this hotel because I wanted to use the pools and fitness center while my husband was skiing. Therefore I was extremely disappointed to find out that BOTH the pools and the fitness room were CLOSED. If I had known, I would have booked an entirely different hotel. It was not worth staying here when I couldn't use any of the facilities I intended to. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the hotel is close to the Parsenn lift. One male staff member was very rude. I asked him which buses outside the hotel go to the Jakobshorn lift and he told me, "Look it up on the internet". I wish I had seen what his name was because I was appalled. I thought my question wasn't very unusual, and you would think the hotel staff would try to be helpful.

Very nice!

Exceptional place, very good location, 5 min walk to the station that takes you to the Davos Parsen ski area. Room was impeccable, very clean and very nice and opulent decoration. The spa is amazing, best thing after a long day on the slopes. Everyone was so nice, complimentary fruits in the room and little chocolates in the evening. Little details matters!

the Fluela is one of the oldest, highest regarded, sports hotels in the Swiss alps. sold last year after a century of family ownership i was really worried that the hotel i first stayed in with my parents and have brought my own family to, would be ruined after being taken over and revamped by Rixos, the Turkish hotel chain. i need not have worried, although here are many changes to the rooms they are positive. Better bathrooms, better fittings, and more comfortable overall. The bar and the Spa are outstanding. It is expensive, but also quite special. the hotel was still being renovated in mid Feb 2014, but it was done discretely without noise or bother.
