We were really disappointed with this stay and would not book here again.From the moment we arrived, it was clear the property did not match the listing. The neighborhood felt very different from what was described—there were bars on many of the surrounding businesses which made it feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar for our out of town group. We had expected a more welcoming and accessible area based on the listing.The rental itself was also a letdown. It felt dingy and not properly cleaned. Baseboards were dusty, carpet and couch stained, the overall condition seemed worn down, and it just didn’t feel fresh or cared for. This made it hard to feel we could relax or feel comfortable during our stay. We understand that not every stay will be perfect, but accurate descriptions and basic cleanliness are a minimum. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on both. We would recommend that the host update the listing to better reflect the actual conditions, neighborhood and invest in a thorough cleaning. After reaching out with our concerns re: safety and the cleanliness, they did offer to come and do a deep cleaning however, at that point we did not feel that a deep clean would be able to make us feel safe & take care of the worn/dirty state. We did not check in fully, and messaged, and kindly asked for a partial refund, which was declined. Poor communication from the owner after we reached out with concerns.
