Family Trip to The Westin Cozumel – Disappointing Experience We stayed at The Westin Cozumel for a 7-day family trip centered around a destination wedding, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. For 5 out of the 7 days, there was only cold water in the showers, which made basic comfort a challenge. The food selection was extremely limited, and the customer service from staff was consistently poor. Despite being a group of 6–8 people, we were not allowed to sit together for meals—whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner—as the staff refused to accommodate us by moving tables. This lack of flexibility and hospitality was very frustrating, especially given the reason for our trip. Additionally, the hotel offered no entertainment whatsoever—not even background music by the pool—making the atmosphere feel dull and uninviting. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. If you're considering The Westin Cozumel, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.

We were very pleased with our all inclusive stay. We only wish there was some type of entertainment in the evenings. Our favorite meal was breakfast. The buffet was excellent ! I enjoyed a cook to order omelette all 4 days. The food at the pool area was also great!!

We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary here and couldn’t have picked a more beautiful spot! The entire property was incredible and instantly put us in vacation mode. We loved that we could snorkel right there on the property, such a fun experience to share with our kids. The restaurant staff at Gaviotas were incredibly kind and truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. The views from both our room and the restaurant were absolutely spectacular, the kind you want to soak in all day. If I could suggest a couple of improvements, it would be to provide more hotel information at check-in, like hours and details on amenities, even a simple printable would be perfect. Also, the shower door seal in our room wasn’t working properly and let out quite a bit of water. Overall, it was a memorable and relaxing stay, and we’re so glad we chose this hotel for our special occasion!

The ocean view was great from the 6th floor and the room was clean and stocked. Snorkeling right off the property is great and somewhat addicting. The staff is friendly and hard hard working: Alex at the snack bar kept us fed and hydrated and was very available and attentive. Vicky, also at the snack bar has a great personality and treated us well. Rosendo and dinner is very professional and provides top notch service. I can't say enough about the entire staff as they are all very helpful and friendly. Areas for improvement was the pool as it had debri and was not kept clean during the day. The barking pets was something I could do without.

Terrible We were really disappointed with our visit. The beach was small and extremely overcrowded, which made it hard to enjoy any time by the water. Before boarding our excursion, we stopped at Gaviotas Restaurant expecting a decent meal, but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed and couldn’t get food out in time. We had to switch to the buffet, and to make things worse, they tried to charge us for an extra plate just because I gave my husband a slices of watermelon — even though he wasn’t planning on eating a full breakfast due to time constraints. To top it all off, there was a roach in our room, which completely panicked our kids. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and we won’t be returning.

Worst Westin I have stayed. Not worth the money at all, shouldn’t be a four star hotel. Lights broken, dirty bedsheet, AC not functioning properly(cannot adjust the temperature, either freezing cold, or turn it off), took forever for the staff to come fix all the issues, plenty of empty rooms still refuse to change a room for me. I stayed two nights, the light bulb got replaced on the second day, AC problem was not fixed at all.

This property is our favorite place to stay in Cozumel. The beds are super comfy, the place is very clean and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. If you go to the restaurant by the water, ask for Margarita. She’s the best!!!!
They surprised us on our last day. We celebrated our 40th anniversary.

Everything was great at the hotel. We got the all inclusive. Little different u get a bill that you sign for everything …make sure to get a copy for each one. I was tipping with cash and one of the wait staff decided to add tips to some of the tickets which added up over the week was the only down fall
