Staff was excellent. Property was not as advertised. There was virtually no beach and there was construction going on in the room beside ours and the room above ours. The food was not particularly good either. But, as I said before, the staff was excellent.

Excellent service from all staff on Occidental grand Cozumel. Food is excellent in the Buffets and ala cart restaurants. This was our 2nd time at this resort and on this trip we brought another couple who equally enjoyed the amazing service. Thank you to all the staff at Occidental for making our trip so special and wonderful. 10 out of 10, we'll be back again. Gracias amigos!

The staff was very nice and attentive. The only issue we had was that our room phone wasn’t connected, the fridge wasn’t cold, our porch chairs were missing, and we had a toilet seat that wouldn’t stay up when we did our business. Also there weren’t any hotel shampoos, conditioners, or toothpastes provided. It’s something we’re used to whenever we stay at a 5 star hotel. Other than that, it was clean, the staff was great, the hotel and view was beautiful.

Liked dining, beach, beach restaurant, staff, location to diving. Could have some more lounge chairs by beach as too many people are "reserving" lounge chairs all day long while only using them part of the time. Solution would be just more chairs and eliminate the need to "save them". Maybe a maximum "save" time of 30 minutes to have a quick lunch or something.

For whatever reason, they start using gas powered leaf blowers at 7am! Then again in the evening. For the price that people pay (FOR A RELAXING VACATION), you think they would at the minimum use electric leaf blowers. That being said, the property is well maintained and pretty. The drinks are free and decently prepared but with liquors of lower quality unless you specify otherwise. The food at the buffets is a journey. A lot of it is inedible slop, but if you pay attention to what you're grabbing, you should probably be able to piece together a meal that won't make you choke. Very easy to avoid overeating at this resort. Avoid the seafood restaurant in the evenings. Also avoid the shrimp at the buffet.
