How about some humanity

Unfortunately, this was not a pleasure trip. This was an emergency trip as we were called that our son was on life support. We were at the hospital from 1:30am until 9pm. I raced to find a hotel. Terrible area Santa Ana so we found this one booked. Checked in. Check in was uneventful but they didn’t disclose $24 a day parking. Which I should have read up on property. But I didn’t have any thing else on my mind. They could have disclosed this information upon check in. Due to this we received a warning the next morning on our way to the hospital. Our sleep was disrupted at 4:56 am by very loud neighbors stomping and stomping leaving the water running opening and closing the door. I called they said they would take care of it. NOT. Nothing. Later in the morning leaving for the hospital I spoke to the Manager Leslie. Expressing my feelings. Pat on the shoulders. We can move you if you’d like. No, I will not be inconvenienced. Second night much better. Although future guests of this hotel. Paying guests pay $24. a day parking. Restaurant patrons park free as well as conference attendees. So as guests we are also paying for them. People this is California property. It’s not San Francisco, DC or Seattle. For goodness sakes it is uncovered parking. At least for $24. when raining walk me to my car with an umbrella. I mean I am helping with the parking fees of others who visit and use this property.

We stayed two separate nights, booking them separately because we didn’t expect to stay a second night in town. At the last minute, we decided to stay the extra night and it was just as nice as the first night. Beds were very comfortable, hotel rooms were very clean and very nice. Their courtyard and the pool area were absolutely beautiful. The pictures they show on their website are true. We will definitely stay here again and again when we’re down in this area.

The building and rooms were excellent. Modern styling in the rooms with an older, formal, but comfortable feel in the lobby and halls. I loved the nautical decor. Really nice hotel at a reasonable price.

The property is old and rundown, there was so much noise throughout the night. The room is stuffy with no ventilation, the water pipes ran brown to begin with, the blinds don't shut all the way. The custodial cart kept going back and forth by our room ALL throughout the night. Got MAYBE 4 hrs of sleep. Waste of money.

I always stay here at Ayres when I visit the area! I was surprised this time that parking was no longer free, but I believe the amount of $24.50 a day is a bit excessive!! Also as renovations are taking place on the exterior, I hope they replace the carpeting in the rooms soon!! As always though the stay was peaceful!!!

For the price of the room this hotel offers a good value. The rooms are fairly updated and clean. The hotel staff is great. They have two heated pools and two jacuzzis. They also have a restaurant with room service which is unusual for this type of hotel. The area around the hotel is not that great but the location is convenient to the beach, or Irvine, or South Coast Plaza. The only downside is that the hotel is close to the take-off pattern at John Wayne airport, so you do hear planes taking off in the morning. But for the price this is a very good hotel.

I have no idea how this property has good reviews. It actually confuses me. Had to pay an additional $50 for our two vehicles to park, room was equivalent to a lower budget motel/hotel, no breakfast you need to pay for that at the attached restaurant, night staff on 1/30 was OKAY but morning staff ladies on 1/41 were rude. Never staying here again
